I went in to this GameStop on 10/12/18 at 5:35pm on a whim, since it was next to the Walmart I had just picked up my groceries from. I have never been in there before, and I will NEVER be back! BUYER BEWARE! These guys are snake oil salespeople. I went in specifically for a new headset for my Xbox One, a nice young lady greeted me, almost at the door, and directed me to the shelf with all of the headset options. I told her that I had an Xbox, a PC, and a PS4. She pointed to a multi-system headset from a brand I had never heard of (CLOUD Stinger from HYPERX), and pulled it down after calling over another co-worker. Adam, only reason I know is that is his name was on my receipt, a tall, heavyset, curly haired guy proceeds to tell me that he personally owns this headset and it's the best thing ever. I tell him that I have a 1 year old who loves tugging on wires and throwing things. He tells me that this "AMAZING" headset is great, because it's "aluminum plated" and "the cord is double wrapped paracord for safety and stability". The headset was $50 ($49.99) which is fine, it's what I would have paid for a lower to mid-range quality headset. I start to checkout and the guy talks about the warranty and says if I should have any issues with it they have great customer service. I agreed that sounded great, thinking that he was adding the warranty to my bill, NOPE! So I head home after what I thought was an AMAZING customer service experience, only to find out that I was deceived and made to look a fool. I open the headset: the frame is plastic (not aluminum), the wire is rubber (not double wrapped in paracord), and then I check the receipt for my warranty and it says that "Customer denied warranty". I will never buy from them again, and I will be sure to call their corporate office when I get the chance to. I'm still trying to decide if I should return the headset seeing as it was not, at all, what was sold to me, but I may just end up keeping it as a cautionary momento. I hope that this prevents grandparents and parents alike from getting scammed, especially during this upcoming holiday season. If you need a more reputable GameStop go to the one in Clayton, OH across from Walmart. Ask for Josh, he is very friendly, and...
Read more@GameStop I’ve had hundreds of great interactions over the last 15 years or so that I’ve been going to GameStop. I think it’s a great store with great products and I can get hardcopies of things I want versus downloading. Sunday, though, I had the most horrific experience with a woman who claimed to be the manager and treated me HORRIBLY. When I asked to speak to the manager, she basically threw a fit and told me she was going to get me banned from the store for asking to speak to someone above her, and wouldn’t tell me her name or the name of her manager.I emailed corporate to let them know that I couldn’t even process a return and that she behaved like a child, along with not even being on the clock and being dressed in her pajamas. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to game stop… If this is the kind of customer service they have in the era of online shopping, it’s not really worth it anymore. She was so entitled and tried to tell me over and over and over again why she was right and I was wrong, and I just wanted to speak to someone besides her. No response from GameStop at all, and I had just spent about $400 on Christmas presents for our children. Pretty much an Amazon customer from...
Read moreI fear the rumors about game stop are true. They are very deceitful and anti consumer minded. Whoever shops here be careful, all they want is your money and they will do whatever it takes to meet their quota.
I came to game stop to buy "Metal gear solid 5 the phantom pain". The manager handed me "Metal Gear Survive" and proceeded to direct me to the counter to pay and leave. I stated that I wanted "Metal Gear Solid 5." The manager said "oh my bad" and grabbed metal gear solid 5 ground zeros (a demo of the full game basically) I stated again I wanted the real "Metal gear solid 5"
I thought that the manager may have just confused the title. However at the counter we had a lengthy talk about the Metal gear series and the games company. Somebody with a huge knowledge of the series would have known what I meant in the first place. She was trying to scam me, make an extra sale.
Please be careful if you shop here. Look online and you will find many shadey game stop practices going on. I am very disappointed in my game stop. I now believe the controversies. And I feel the need to post this so others with less game knowledge such as parents and grandparents parents will not...
