Outback Steakhouse — Restaurant in Troy

9-13 Update. Everything was good. Steak was cooked to order. The baked potato was nice and tender. My only complaint was the lemonade was really watery. I called and told the manager and he said he'd check the syrup.

6-22 Update. I've had both good and bad experiences from her but they are trying. Most of my experiences are positive ones now because they actually are showing they do care. Today I enjoyed a free baked potato (love me some baked) for filling out the survey and just being honest! I'm not trying to get something for nothing and I don't complain unless it's warranted.

UPDATE: I decided to give Outback another go and was once again sadly disappointed. I ordered online this time. My steak was overcooked and very tough. Seriously, how can you screw up a MedRare sreak? The mushrooms were good this time. I got the baked potato X 2 and ask for xtra sour cream n butter but that was too complicated I guess! And I didn't get the loaf of bread either. Seriously Outback? It was NOT busy, it was 8:30pm. You would think that a $50 order would generate some kind of attention.

July 2023 I took my daughter for birthday dinner and it was awful. Service was really poor and they weren't busy. I ordered MR Ribeye and it came out RAW. I sent it back. It was still rare second time as you can see in pictures. That wasn't only problem. Ceasar Salad was just terrible. It tasted like dressing was straight mayonnaise. BUT when I started to cut into my steak I lost hope. I cut away FAT for 10 minutes without taking a bite. Server informed me that amount of fat (over half) was normal..... Seriously!? Management was reluctant to do anything. The server brought the check and didn't even ask if we were having dessert. Outback says you get a desert free for birthday.... Even though another hotel guest warned us not to go here, we decided to give it a chance. The restaurant is clean but the food is awful. I ordered shrimp on the barbie with seasonal vegetables, rice and potato soup. The flavor of the soup was really delicious, but everything else horrible. Most of the shrimp was overcooked, the vegetables had 0 seasoning--- not even salt or pepper. The most shameful part was the rice! Unlike the vegetables, they over seasoned the rice. It was so salty that neither my husband nor myself could swallow a single bite. My husband's dinner was just a nightmare. He ordered prime rib (medium rare) with the added on shrimp, mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was surprisingly delicious! The mashed potatoes were so thick it could have literally been used to plaster drywall. However the prime rib they brought him was ice cold, and bloody. When he mentioned this to the waitress and that he didn't want it rare, she fussed about how it would have to be seared but finally took it back to the kitchen. It went from looking like raw prime rib to a burnt tenderloin. At this point he was starving and just ate it anyways... but after a few bites he had me taste it too. It was so bland and I agreed that the taste was off. He didn't finish it and left it there on the table. We are not ones to fuss and make a scene so we just paid our bill and left. The waitress didn't question or ask why we barely touched our food. She was more focused on cleaning up for the night. She even took our butter but left the bread because she wanted to gather all the dirty dishes. The only thing worth paying for was the soup and mac n cheese. We regretfully didn't listen to other customers and my husband suffered from diarrhea all night and the next morning. We were coming home from Dayton and decided to stop in Troy's outback now mind you this is 3:00 in the afternoon . there was only one other person in there eating at the time we got there.we were set immediately when we got in there to the table our waitress came up and introduced herself gave us our menus that's what we wanted to drink if we wanted any appetizers.we ordered our drinks and declined the appetizers. she went and got our drinks and then asked us if we we're ready to order we said no we would need a few minutes. She know more turned away and came back are you ready to order like fine whatever so I asked her a few questions about my meal and we proceeded to order. We had both ordered salads with our meals now anywhere I've ever been your salads come not long after you order them so you can have them done before your mail gets there. We waited and waited and waited nothing finally she brings out the salads and it wasn't 2 minutes later here comes our meal very upset about that then when she brought her meal I had to tell her that I wanted the sauce that come with the sandwich that I ordered on the side because it wasn't on my plate then when she brought it out it was two different sauces and whatever it's supposed to be. At this point I'm a little on the livid side the meals were medioker but the service was horrible.never once did she replentish our drinks .I had to ask her to remove the salad and bread dishes. If this would have been much later and busy then I wouldn't have been so upset...will never eat...
