This small plaza in Nina Simone's home town is a tribute to the singer, songwriter, pianist and civil rights activist. Who hasn't heard of Nina Simone? Surely you're aware of the music she released to support civil rights, including the song "Mississippi Goddam" that was in response to the murder of Medgar Evers.
