Took me 3 months to get in after hospital visit. I explained to Dr. else what happened to me and what is still happening and what has been tested and what hasn't been. Dr. Else had blood drawn. My cholesterol and blood pressure were high and no medication or advice was given for that. I was given a blood glucose check device for my arm which would read 85 then two seconds later 114 then again two seconds later 160. Complaints were Headache that never goes away, pressure in my head, right jaw hurting a lot, temples hurting, eyesight becoming blurry then sometimes better. I was technically stage 1 hypertensive when I visited his office and nothing was done about that either. I mentioned that this has been going on for months now to which is only response was to refer me to the heart institute which was months away while I still suffer. I mentioned Giant cell arteritis fits all of my symptoms and I would be willing to take any test and like most doctors he stated " it would require then to take a sample of the tissue in the region to confirm" "However, there can but a multitude of things that can also present similarly. We would want to set up an appointment to discuss the concern in more detail." his next appointment was three months away. Hard to wait that long while your having major issues.
Nothing at all was done about any of my symptoms. If you're well or have minor issues probably not a bad place, the appointment was on time, Dr. Else or his staff answer messages fairly quick but anything out of the ordinary and you're on your own. Basically the fast food of doctors. His office loves getting google reviews and you will leave with a card asking...
Read moreAs a RN, I have seen the “behind the scenes” communication of physicians. Not always, but often, physicians depend greatly on the report or relationship the nurses/assistants have with their patients because they themselves don’t have one. I can tell you first hand as a patient of Dr. Else, that is not the case. His communication with me has been incredible. He called me directly, himself! Not a nurse or assistant. This is the first time this has ever happened in my life. It kind of took me by surprise to be honest. His vigilance and attention to detail are unmatched. I am confident that anyone who sees him will be impressed. I switched to Dr Else after having issues with my PCP communicating with me. With my last PCP, over a span of 3 weeks I placed 4 phone calls, left 4 voicemails and sent 2 emails. No response. With Dr Else, he uses Mychart app to communicate with his patients. My lab results came in and within a couple of hours he left messages on each lab with questions or instructions. I not only can brag on his communication but his intelligence. His problem solving. He is one of those people that are so impressive, it makes a person feel inadequate at their own job. Lol. Its all very impressive. His assistant is great as well. I was joking with her and said, is he a super human? How does he do it. She laughed and said, he may very well be. She had many great things to say about him. I made the switch on the advice of a coworker who is a physical therapist. She was not wrong! If you are looking for a PCP. Do not hesitate,...
Read moreI've been seeing Dr. Else for a few years now and he is truly one of the most caring, knowledgeable, and supportive primary care providers I've met. He takes the time to listen to you and work through things with you to make sure you understand what is going on, and never makes you feel inferior. I've always had to stay informed with the latest health recommendations, since as an LGBTQ+ patient my past providers hadn't kept up with newest recommendations for my community and I had to advocate for myself. But with Dr. Else, in our first few visits I learned so much and he showed he had clearly done his research and kept up with the newest data on treating the LGBTQ+ community. It is clear that he is a patient advocate. He also takes your complaints seriously and suggests actual solutions or testing instead of just blaming it on other conditions and not addressing it. His communication is top-tier and he makes you feel validated in your concerns, all without judgement, which is honestly hard to find in the healthcare field in my experience. I no longer dread going to primary care visits, and actually look forward to them because I feel like I walk away feeling better and more knowledgeable about my health. His team and support staff is also great and are just like him. Establish care with Dr. Else, you...
