My recent stay at the Avid Hotel in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was truly enjoyable, offering a delightful experience from start to finish. As a first-time guest at an Avid establishment, I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of this hotel, making it an appealing choice for travelers seeking comfort without breaking the bank.
Upon arrival, I was impressed by the hotel's pristine appearance and modern design, reflecting its status as a new addition to the Avid brand. The room I stayed in exuded cleanliness and tidiness, with crisp linens and a refreshing ambiance that immediately put me at ease. While the beds were slightly firmer than what I'm accustomed to, they still provided a restful night's sleep, complemented by wonderfully supportive pillows.
The breakfast offered at the Avid Hotel, while modest in selection, proved to be satisfying and sufficient for starting the day. With options ranging from cereals and breads to fresh fruits and a couple of hot items like small quiches and pre-made omelets, there was something to suit every palate. Considering the reasonable price paid for the stay, I found the breakfast offerings to be fair and adequate.
Another highlight of my stay was the presence of a large television in the room, providing an extra layer of comfort and entertainment during downtime.
Overall, my experience at the Avid Hotel in Tuscaloosa was overwhelmingly positive. Its combination of affordability, cleanliness, comfortable accommodations, and convenient amenities makes it a standout choice for travelers visiting the area.
However, it's worth noting that there was a minor issue with my reservation, as I had booked a king room but was informed upon arrival that only twin beds were available. While this discrepancy was a slight inconvenience, it did not detract significantly from the overall quality of my stay.
Despite this minor hiccup, I wholeheartedly recommend the Avid Hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and affordable lodging option...
Read moreSo here is (as always) my honest review. It’s a little tricky to access because you turn in by a gas station and pass 2 other hotels before your destination. Now with all being said once you arrive it’s definitely worth it. The outside of the property is stunning, well kept and very clean. Once you walk in you are greeted by so many smiling faces it’s like you’ve known them for years. The lobby is 1st class with a coffee bar, a lounge area to relax and watch tv (if that’s your thing) or enjoy the view. Many options for snacking and relaxing. Then if you’re not on the first floor you hop in the elevator. This elevator was polished perfectly and smelled so fresh. Once you exit each floor there are hand sanitizer stations for those of you who like to wash up every time you touch something. Once inside your room it is very cozy and has everything you need. The rooms are not as large as some places I have stayed but has every feature of the large ones. The bathroom is gorgeous with a stunning waterfall shower head. Has a small fridge, the ironing board is tucked away and I did not even notice it at first the way the room is done (nice touch). Large TV, desk area and wonderful view. Every kind of outlet you could possibly need in the room is just another touch that makes this place so cool. The bed… well it is soooo comfortable. What this place has done with hotels is superb! Great Job Avid in Tuscaloosa Alabama … update: how could I possibly forget to mention the coolest, nicest, most professional man I have met here… James, you sir are what truly makes this this place worth visiting. Your interaction with people and always smiling is truly...
Read moreThe hotel was modern and clean. The staff were great too. I like that there is no carpet in the rooms that way there is no musty odor like other hotels. I like that there is Dove body wash, Dove shampoo and conditioner are provided on the wall in pumps for convenience. I was impressed by the Dove body lotion AND hand soap provided in pumps as well. I go to much more expensive hotels that never have pump hand wash! I dislike using bar soap to wash my hands but have no alternative unless I go to the store and buy some. You have to be mindful of is the room is modern but the king size room a bit smaller than usual. There isn’t an actual closet, no safe, or sofa bed. But if you’re going for a quick stay like I did, I wasn’t worried about it. Also, Breakfast is not a continental breakfast at all like you would get at another hotel Inn. It is literally grab and go. Don’t expect to make a waffle, get some eggs and bacon, etc. It is more like Individually wrapped Jimmy Dean sausage biscuits warmed up, Small individual cereal, boxes, yogurt, granola bars, small banana nut muffins, apples, and bananas. They did have omelettes that were made and individually wrapped, but my daughter said they were not good. I really hope that they would work on increasing the options and making it better for guests
At the end of the day, the fact that it was very clean, had good staff, was in a great location, and a safe area was enough for me to really...
