Black Bear Golf Course — Attraction in Twin Lakes Township

You better pack a lunch and bring a friend if your going to take this golf course on, because this course will beat you up. Very tight fairways carved out of the deep woods. If it was ranked, I'd guess it's the least forgiving golf course in America (not kidding). This is why the house rule is every shot on every hole is played as a lateral hazard. It's fun and well maintained, but you are left with very few options off the tee on several holes. There are several par 4's and par 5's where you have no room to fit driver in there. Lots of par 4's in the 360 to 400 range with about a 40 to 50 yard wide landing area. Water or deep woods on both sides of hole! I hit 4 iron on a couple longer par 4's off the tee and I hit 4 iron off the tee on 18 which is a par 5! The par 5's are all around 500 yards, but 3 are ranked the top 3 in difficulty on the course. The first par 5 (hole 3) you have about 20 yards strip to land your ball in.On 18 you have gigantic boulders in the fairway still left over from when lake superior covered the area after the last ice age. If your drive clears the first set the ball will most likely ricochet off the second set. They are placed at 230 and 260 off the tee. I managed to shoot 80 from the back tees and it felt pretty good. Love this place! There is something to do for everyone in the family. From swimming and arcade for the kids to fitness center Starbucks and Casino for adults. Before settling into your comfy room, the entire family can enjoy dinner at The Steak House or The Buffet and a Cafe! The food is delicious and staff is extremely friendly. Also if you like to listen to good music and bands check out the Cobalt Lounge for some adult fun. Anyone who is looking for a good place to stay where all ages will be satisfied then Black Bear Casino and Hotel is the place for you! Throw your childs Birthday party in one of the party rooms or getting married? Have Reception in the banquet hall and for your guests you can book a block of rooms to end the night. It's a slightly dumpy hotel it was 1 thing after another first the room I got sink and tub were clogged maintenance came opened them leaving a toxic drain pipe mess they gave me a free upgrade the new room was a Lil messy and some of the cfl bulbs were burned out maintenance never showed up to replace them I went down to the arcade to get a pizza I had to wait 20 minutes to ask for 1 I get it up to my room open the box and the pizza is burned I call to get it replaced I have to wait another 20 minutes to get around to putting in the new pizza but this 1 was not burned and it was very tasty.
