We decided to try a Thanksgiving meal adventure here today. We arrived at 4:13p and were told we had a 2.5 hour wait. This was a good sign as it told me that this was a popular place. Fortunately, they use Open Table so we were able to do other things while we waited. We were notified at 5:54p that our table was ready. The food was amazing. We were impressed with the variety and number of different foods, beyond the traditional Thanksgiving meal, that were available. I'm a mac & cheese adventurist and I think this was the second best I've ever had. The best was at the former Hinkley buffet. The dessert options seemed endless. This wasn't just a "quantity" buffet as it was obvious that they focus on quality AND quantity with attention to unique food options. The service wasn't bad, but since they were so busy, it took just a bit longer than normal for beverage service. That is understandable. The environment was comfortable and while there were a lot of people dining, it didn't seem overcrowded. I was very happy with the overall experience. I'm now compelled to come back and check out their normal weekly buffet adventures. Kudos to the Bear for having one of, if not the best, buffet in the state. We will be back again.

Tyler and the some other wait staff at this buffet are absolutely amazing! I mean Michelin star restaurant quality servers. They deserve to work somewhere better. The selection for seafood night consisted of muscles, clams, and shrimp in the same container. There was a couple others like cold shrimp, battered shrimp and battered fish. The star of the show was only crab legs. Overall, it was missing a ton of seafood and had a ton of normal foods. This buffet used to be one of the best in the state! They have a waiting queue which took less than 30 mins so it wasn’t too bad. Most of the time the hot food was just warm and the cold stuff was also warm. Overall if you do not LOVE crab the seafood buffet at $45 a person is not worth the money. Children under 5 are free and 6 and over are adult prices which I think is crazy.

Came for the Prime Rib and Shrimp buffet and I'll tell you something, they need to have Mykelti Williamson just list off all the different shrimp they got going on here in the same fashion as in the Forest Gump Movie. Shrimp skewers, coconut shrimp, butterfly shrimp, beer batter shrimp, stuffed shrimp, and so on. The tenderloin medallions live up to the name since I used a butter knife to cut them. Serious melt in your mouth meat. The ribs have such deep flavor, and the prime rib is really damn good and juicy. I didn't remember to get a picture till my last plate, but I tried all the shrimp and I am having a hard time deciding what was the best of the best. Also they are doing things smart here like offering hand sanitizer and glove to patrons to sanitize and serve themselves.

I feel I must praise this place to counteract some of the unfair negative reviews they have been getting especially since reopening after being closed during the pandemic. First, I must say that I live in the metro, very close to Mystic Lake and not too far from Treasure Island (both of those casinos HAD great buffets before they closed them due to the pandemic. Even when they were open, I would have put Black Bear’s buffet up against either one of them. There are things on the buffet here that surprise me each time I come to this buffet. The quality is top notch and the value can’t be beat. I go to Vegas a lot too and I would put this buffet up against most of the Vegas Buffets too. I enjoy this place very much and I am really glad they found a way to reopen and do a great job with it. I am just one reviewer -I realize that. However, I would hope this brings a helpful counterpoint to the negative reviews out there. At the end of the day, this place is a buffet. If you want a more upscale dining experience, go to the Steakhouse, or go to someplace much more expensive. If you want a very good buffet at a very impressive value, don’t hesitate...

First timer. Pleased. We arrived at 5:30, Saturday Gourmet night. Waited 20 minutes. Never needed any ID or player card. You put gloves on before heading to the buffet. Nice. Prime rib was excellent. Breaded shrimp, large onion rings, chicken Kiev, two types of ribs, Salmon, Cod, Lamb, etc.. lots of meat choices, at least 3 different potato choices. For hot food: at least 3 buffet sections around 5 feet long with multiple options. Plus carving station. Two soups. I saw no bread or rolls though. Salad bar was great! Traditional lettuce with all of the traditional raw veggies, cold pasta salads with potato salad, four meats you can top your salad with. Chicken, bacon, diced ham and one more. Ice cream machine was kind of like ice milk( not as creamy). Desserts were a sea of chocolate. Cake, cheesecake, etc. beverages were a little slow. They came by server. There was a station right out of the buffet area. my advice to the casino: downsize the portion sizes to reduce waste. The desserts were huge. Parking was a short walk but they did have valet...
