I never leave reviews and I wasn’t going to because we love this theater. (Yes we will be going back because it’s just one person who always ruins it) I love this theater my only issue that I haven’t had until last night is they asked for an id to see black phone 2. Which is fine because it’s r-rated. My bf was like oh my id we gonna run to the car real quick. So me and my bf went out to the car to get our ids bc they’ve never asked for one before. ( yes we are of age to see the movie) When we came back in she had an attitude as if we were trying to sneak into this movie. I should’ve looked for her name because she was saying something rude about us to her other employee. It was kinda ridiculous. If we were kids we would’ve bought kid tickets instead of spending 30 dollars on adult tickets. I understand that we look young but she didn’t need to have an attitude as if we were trying to scam her of 30 bucks not including the drink. Also when she checked our ids she was looking at them like a bouncer would at a club! Then when she finally got our tickets to give to us she was trying to give them to my bf who’s trying to put the ids away and grab our card she was like standing there with a come on look on her face. So I took them out of her hand. When she gave us the cup she just walked away and started talking to the other employee when the transaction wasn’t completed. My bf being the nicest person ever said thank you even when she was ignoring us. They’ve never asked for our ids before so yes it threw me and my bf off. We’ve seen ALOT of rated r movies without having our ids checked at this theater. We have been coming here for over a year maybe two and never until last night have we been asked for an id. If you are going to have rules maybe all employees should actually be following them not just the older lady, and that specific lady is always rude to us every time we come. This is the only theater near us and we love it but this one experience was just absolutely wild. If you hate your job maybe change your job. Don’t be rude just because you THINK we are under age. Again she’s helped us multiple times before without asking for ids. This lady is also so rude and acts like doing her job is the last thing she wants to do. Every time we come and she’s the one who helps us she just like ruins our mood to even see the movie. It’s never the other employees who are all very kind even when there’s a crazy amount of people in the lobby. She’s the only one who’s ever been rude and acting like she’s too good to be there. Idk if this makes sense but it’s not about asking for ids it’s about her attitude. Btw even if we were underage she shouldn’t act like that. It’s was just rude and...
Read moreConcession stand staff are great but the encounter with man-child, general manager Joel was the most vile I’ve had with anyone who is supposed to de-escalate. Went to watch the Eras. 15 mins in, the movie was significantly turned down. We complained and they turned it up only for a whole 5 mins and down again. Went up to Joel and he made excuses like that “our neighbors” can hear/ was supposed to be turned down before the movie started/ “that it’s not just us”/ the “computer” didn’t turn it down and after my partner has also emerged - went on to tell us to use common sense. Mind you, our theatre was all the way down on the other end of the theater and there was nothing else playing in on all the nearby theaters.
It wasn’t just us who noticed the difference - the other people in our theater did notice it too. The sound was initially like at a 7 and then down to 3-4 so you could imagine.
Who turns down the volume of a CONCERT MOVIE a quarter way in?! This was also at 2 PM on a Friday when there wasn’t even a lot of patrons. The sound difference was noticeable and we refused to watch any more of the movie and the staff was kind enough to give us full refunds. Meanwhile, Joel had already stormed off, nowhere to be found instead of being the person to de-escalate. How can someone emotionally inept lead a team and run this place? Big mistake to watch it here.
I’ve watched the Eras in theaters in Austin with great experience and leave it to Joel to treat the theatre like his own house and make us feel like we were being “too...
