I visited this store for this first time on Saturday. To start I had a lovely experience as I perused through the HomeGoods portion of the store. After I was done I decided to take a look in the jewelry section of the TJMaxx part of the store. As I looked at the jewelry cases I was met by a salesperson by the name of Rabia. She was kind and extremely personable. As I started to walk by the watch case, my eye was caught by an orange box. I knew immediately that this was a Tory Burch watch. I asked Rabia if she knew the price. She was unsure. We tried to look all over the box for a price and could not come up with one. In addition we tried to see if there was a tag at all attached and after several failed attempts of us trying to get the watch out of the box, my sister is was able to take the watch from its well secured box. We searched all though the box for a price and to no avail, we were unable to locate a price. Rabia did not want to misquote a price to me so she decided to enlist the help of the Store Manager, Troy. Steve’s first comment to Rabia, my sister and myself was…where did you get this from? We all looked bewildered and answered with a puzzled response that the watch came from the case. Troy looked confused. He took the watch and began searching the box for a price. He then began to search the area for a similar selection, which was a mute point. As we stood and waited, a salesperson, named Christina, came to the jewelry area and began to ask if we were ok and I stated that we were and that we were waiting for Troy to return with a price for the watch. During the waiting time which was about 10-15 minutes. We decided that the watch must have been a return as the box was greasy and the inside lining looked worn. Troy finally returned and he said he had checked EBay for the price of the watch and when I questioned the price he began to raise his voice and I corrected him and said that it is unacceptable for him to raise his voice at me. Fast forward, I decided that I would not purchase the watch. Troy showed such a level of unprofessionalism that I stated that I would never frequent this store again. I felt attacked and humiliated. I felt that it was as racially driven. I have consulted with many family and friends to see if they have ever been treated in such a derogatory manner. There was an overwhelming response that they had not. I have been a long time shopper of the TJMaxx store chains and I have NEVER encountered such disrespect. In fact I frequent the stores at least 1-3 times a week. I like the chain of stores so much that I drove almost one hour to get to the Vernon store. I am going to try not to allow my experience with Troy and his attitude to taint my view of stores. I hope that Troy’s attitude is not reflective of the brand...
Read moreI love shopping at TJ Maxx until recently, As we all know it’s a hit or miss with items we love to be on sale , I shop at this location pretty often etc I was in the store recently and came across a comforter with shams on sale.. I found it in the bedding clearance section with one of their red clearance tags long story short I went to cash out at register and the cashier questioned me about the price on the comforter and told me that someone put this on and she wouldn’t be able to sell me it at that price, as surprised as I was, I replied ok so who put a clearance tag on here besides the worker etc she replied she didn’t know but she called someone from that dept up to verify etc, I questioned her if she was a manager she ignored me I only asked because of how much of a scene she was creating with me ( almost making it seem as if I was the one that mis marked it) even though it was in THEIR CLEARANCE SECTION marked on clearance with SEVERAL SECURITY CAMERAS ALL AROUND THE STORE…anyhow I finally asked to speak with a manager who quickly came to the rescue and confirmed that it was from that department and she apologized etc and took care of me, thanks again btw..,but the point is, maybe train the workers to not be so rude when trying to find out whatever it was she was doing besides discriminating on me rather than trying to help, she created a unnecessary scene that could’ve went way left all because she wasn’t familiar with the department number they used to mark down the item so I gave them a two because although this happened she will not be the cause of me losing out...
Read moreGood place with good deals. Clean and great selection. Three stars because the customer service is poor at best. I went to checkout, "cashier" just scans items (i could do that myself), no "Hello" or "Hows it going", at the end she just stares at me and asks if I "Had a problem?". I said whats going on? No total given to me or that the checkout was even completed. Oh, I guess I am not smart because I don't know the "drill"? Sorry no total or no prompt on credit machine to pay, or even a hint given. I like mysteries, but not when I shop. Next time I go in and hoping for best, get some young guy who does the same but instead insists I sign up for rewards. I say it's not worth my time for 6 dollars, as I would be more inclined to do that with a major purchase. He begins to shout at me that I need it, not talk, but shout. I told him "no way bro, back off". I payed and he let me know that he was not angry with me. What a relief! If he was angry, then what would he have done? LOL. Terrible. There should be a self checkout line, because its as if these paid employees are doing me a favor by doing their jobs properly. I've worked in customer service for years, and I know what is good and bad service. Maybe there should be more training in satisfying and not bullying customers. Sadly, these days this is the trend. I like the store, but so far loathe...
