It is a decent park.... To me, it is a little strange that EVERY dog park in the area has no grass, just gravel. On dry days, it is definitely dusty because not only is it gravel, but also dirt. While there is plenty of shade, it is a little dinghy. Everything is pretty dirty, like there are bags of trash hung on the outsides of the fence. There is also brooms and rakes put up against the fences. All of the benches are covered in urine and gravel dust. The entire park smells of urine. There is a huge wet pile of leaves by the water spout. The enclosure itself is actually much smaller than the pictures make it seem. However, just about all the time you can expect someone to be there, which is nice if you are trying to socialize your dog. The slowest day so far was on Monday. But by 1030am there was already about 8-10 people filtering in. People are really nice, but this park is uncomfortablely small. If there are more than four or five people there isn't enough room to really throw a ball or disk. There are two entrances though, so if the dog pile is piling next to one door, you have another one to go in at. There are so many playful dogs of all sizes. There really hasn't been an issue with dogs fighting, but a dog who is not use to it may be alarmed. We were there the other day and a woman was clutching her smaller puppy to her chest coming in and then whenever another dog got too close and her dog was a little nervous, she would clutch her dog against her again.
That's a...
Read moreWe took our 6 month old lab mix to this dog park for the very first time, at first we were worried because we weren't too sure how our puppy will behave to other dogs and people because he's a very overly excited dog who loves to jump on people and dog. He was on the leash for the first 10 minutes or so but after lots of encouragement from other dog owners and word of wisdom from a very kind elderly man, we decided to let him off the leash. So glad we did! Our puppy was a whole new dog and it gave us a big sign of relief. I'm glad we brought our puppy there and we will continue taking our puppy to dog park! Thank you to all those dog owners who were kind and understanding to our Niko and gave us lots of good advice! I definitely recommend...
Read moreWhen it's dry out there is a lot of dust in the air from dogs running over gravel. People who are sensitive to air-quality should be aware. It's not an issue if it has rained recently. There isn't much equipment (except a single platform with a ramp) but there are a lot of toys around.
The people are nice. It's busiest right around when most people get off of work. It's a dog park so incidents are bound to happen, but people are generally quick to respond. If you want to reduce the risk a dog getting too rough with your dog, come when it's not busy, pay close attention, and leave if you have a bad feeling. You can always try again later when there's a different crowd. People and dogs are always coming and going. The vibe...
