Hillcrest Park — Attraction in Vincennes

Hillcrest has always been my favorite park here. They tore the old hospital down and it kinda took away part of the park. There's a little area to walk your dog where the building was. I love the trails & the creek! Several years ago, I went out to walk the trails & they were covered in weeds, sticks, etc. It was so overgrown that I couldn't even find the trails. After they made the dog park, they also got all of the trails open again. It's not fancy with a lot of playground equipment or anything but it's...

It was beautiful out there. More primitive - some limbs down though most were small along tree line. Lots of pine trees so I thought it smelled great! Restrooms appeared to have been damaged by the storm. Had port-a-potts. Had 3 or 4 shelter houses which had a phone number on them to reserve the shelter house of choice. Also had disc (frisbee) golf course. Had some playground equipment for the young ones...or...

This park definitely deserves some TCL! The playground equipment is so old. The bathrooms are never available for use. The grounds are not well kept. This park is in a good location and it deserves an upgrade. It could be a great park if there were some updates done to it!! It's well shaded and cool. Good park for summer birthday parties for sure, just needs cleaned up...
