Vintner's Cellar Winery of Yorktown — Attraction in Virginia

this local place is really cool. we got a groupon for a wine tasting n a fruit/cheese plate. she has them at 2 n 4 pm on Saturdays. we got to taste 18 wines. the cool thing about this place is that they make different flavors every week. once they sell out of that flavor, they don't make more. my friend went 2 weeks before I did and tried a strawberry mango sangria. I got to buy the last bottle of watermelon strawberry shiraz. my bf got a blueberry n black raspberry wine called bear paw. obv they have the constants like pinot grigio and stuff. i'd say the only downside was that the fruit n cheese plate was underwhelming. the cheese was literally 3 slices of krafts singles cheese lol. that's only if you get the groupon though. however, without the groupon, a wine tasting per person is $10 which still a steal. fruit/cheese plate doesnt come with the regular wine tasting. i'm going back this weekend and bringing my own wine and cheese plate. their food is really good and HUGE portions too. Flew in from Florida to visit my favorite winery. Was met by the owner & wine maker herself, Mrs. Jen & Kelly. We sampled all sorts of new wines created since I was last there. I had the good old tried & true Razzle Dazzle- their award winning wine. I selected a 12 pack assortment (like one would at a supermarket with the 6 packs you can create with beer) to take home. We had a generous amount of samples before we purchased. A tad sad that I was not able to stay & eat, had to run errands. I am certain that the food is still as delectable as when I would stop in 2 years ago.

I brought friends that live locally and have never been, and although they were just there for support, or to enable me, they also walked away with 6 bottles! I cannot express enough how much I love & miss this local gem! Till we meet again,...

I attended a tasting at Vintner's Cellar Winery of Yorktown and had a fabulous time. My sister and I scheduled it as a fun birthday outing. The owners are very knowledgeable. They took us through the wine-making process and answered every question. We discovered some wonderful new flavors, and they even got me to try the reds! I'm a huge fan of fruit wine and their selection is sizable. I see that they're doing some fun promotions and limited releases, too.
