The stairs are stable, but gradually become steeper the further up one goes. There is also scattered trash on the sides, making the stairs look less appealing. It’s difficult to view the river or the full staircase from the top, covered by trees and bushes.

The stairwell is embedded into the hillside and some of the steps are very tall so you really have to push yourself to make it to the top and then very carefully make your way down. Jacob's Ladder does have railings on both sides but they are a wee bit wobbly so just be prepared to engage your core muscles to keep yourself from falling. Read moreAn amazing work out. It's kinda hidden away and not many people know about it. If you are near the area, definitely worth the stop and hike up the ladder. Or you can have a nice scenic walk down by the river. Either way a great park to be at.
We went there just in a whim during our road trip and was impressed with the area. After the climb we went for a little hike on the trail below along the river.
