Everyone has their own flavor profile that calls out to them. Thus, it would be absolutely ludicrous to base one's interest in Gramercy Cellars off the reviews of others, especially those who have some kind of chip on their shoulders. That said, I am still compelled to say that in an area of loving competition in distinguished wines, Gramercy impressed us with their bold and deep profile, fitting for royalty! It impressed our old palates enough to start a membership, drive 4 hours each way to visit at times, and delight in this comfortable setting nestled inside an industrial part of town - away from presumptuous hustle.
The staff are a friendly lot, even if sometimes they get busy (as happens in such places of customer service). As an observer of behind-the-scenes activities, I can attest that the staff work to provide sippers with time alone to sip and blend it with time to chat and educate. Thank you, Gramercy Cellars, for what you do to bring added cheer to...
Read moreBefore heading over to Walla Walla this weekend, Gramercy Cellars had been recommended as a fantastic winery to visit. My friend Gina sent in a reservation request and received a prompt response from the tasting room manager. We just returned from our wine tasting, and we were all very impressed with our experience. We were a few minutes late, so we called, and Austin said he would keep the door open for us. Throughout the tasting, Austin described the nuances of each wine and told us stories about the winery's history, vintages, and vineyards. He was engaging, knowledgeable, and professional. We all left with several bottles. Tasting room is intimate and has a fantastic vibe. Highly recommend! Thank you, Austin, for a fantastic...
Read moreI made a reservation after doing some research and finding Gramercy on several lists. I am so glad we did! While the building is unassuming, don't rule it out. When you walk through the door, you feel like you're in another time. It is thoughtfully decorated, and we felt right at home. We were lucky enough to have Austin as our host and we are so glad we did. To say his knowledge of the wine industry and its history is extensive feels like an understatement, and you can feel his passion and excitement when he talks. The wines were phenomenal and a beautiful representation of Washington grapes. We left with a few bottles, and can't wait to go back. If you are in search of the rare WA Pinot Noir, you'll find it here and will not be...
