Absolutely. Predatory behavior when selling any kind of products to them. I was offered between three and seven dollars per pack for my 200 packs of various pokemon Sleeves and card blister pack with promo card today . I literally have thousands of dollars worth of the stuff in storage. And my son is now onto something else and have literally been chasing these cards for the last fourteen years. Anyways, over the christmas holiday, I came and had so much stuff, and they were very predatory about the way that they made an offer to me. They probably got three thousand dollars worth of stuff for a few hundred dollars. Today I went in there with probably a thousand dollars worth of stuff, The girl behind the counter was going to give me $2 per pack, Plus between three and seven dollars for each blister. I leave and I come back and they've literally changed their price 21 dollar per pack, so he offered me two hundred dollars for over a thousand dollars worth of stuff.... I will absolutely never freaking product to this store again. And I will be reporting them to the local distributor because what they did today was absolutely predatory. They thought I was desperate and would take it. And I'm not desperate. I'm just tired of paying storage fees for stuff. That's just no longer used by my child. I literally told the girl I would be right back and I was going to wait. Go eat really quick and while she priced everything up I would come back to get paid, And I came back and one of the so called managers were there, and he's the one that actually changed the price. So I made a deal with a girl. I go to Eva while she counts up. How much they're going to pay me? And I come back and all of a sudden, I have exactly two hundred cards and he'll give me two hundred dollars for all of them. I'm going to add exactly what I had, so you can see what they were. Offering two hundred...
Read moreWent to this store in November 2024. Prices for Pokemon boxes (even though it was Surging Sparks) was beyond fair. One Piece and Dragon Ball boxes were also very fair. The owner Art was very personable and informed me they were all about the players. During my trip, I was disappointed I didn't have the time to join the Digimon Locals. I told the owner I would be back. When I returned in March 2025, I planned the Saturday of my trip around playing at this store. Sonic, one of the employees, and his team held a fantastic Digimon Release Event. Working with people for a living, I know when the environment is welcoming and a joy to be in. Had a fantastic event alongside the awesome players and the prizing structure was unbelievable. Definitely will plan my trip in the future to include playing some Digimon Locals and grabbing product! What the owner, Art, said about the store being there for the players held up 10/10. Also, what some people may mention in other reviews about this store's rate at which they buy sealed packs, do your research. A store is not going to offer you more than what they can get a pack for from their distributor. That would just be a horrible decision, financially, for a business to make. Also, when LGS' get products from their distributors, one can assume it's legit. Buying sealed product from a third party source is never a guarantee for legitimacy. So never blame an LGS for offering even a little less with that in mind. At the end of the day, you can go ahead and sell your own items on different apps and services. Don't ever blame a store for offering less than market when they still have to do the work to move the product and make a profitable margin. This store...
Read moreCool store and very nice staff, unfortunately the big problem is the price. It’s very very expensive for items that are much cheaper online or at another store. A Pokémon cyclizar EX box here is $25 (nonnegotiable), across the street at target the same box is $12, and at a local collectable store nearby this box has dropped to about $9. The Pokémon selection wasn’t really that large either with a much bigger focus on magic the gathering and YuGiOh which is cool if you like that. They had a couple older video games which was cool to see but again it was a small selection. The staff turned on their arcade machine and let my little cousin play for free which was very kind and a really cool feature of this business. It’ll be hard for this store to stay in business, unfortunately the Meriden mall is notorious for having very high rent on its stores and for this reason the mall is dying and businesses can’t afford to stay open without over charging. My advice for the store owner is to find a new location outside of the mall somewhere in the Meriden/Wallingford area and price the items to match that of other locations like target or Walmart. Really cool idea but poorly executed hopefully the prices are adjusted soon and the Pokémon inventory...
