Floor & Decor — Attraction in Waltham

I went to Floor & Decor today at the suggestion of our contractor and highly recommend this store for EXTREMELY helpful staff, and VERY reasonable prices. I had gone to a couple other tile stores in the days prior and had mediocre/negative experiences at those. My contractor told me that what they sell is in-stock which was very appealing (the other stores had estimated 2-3 weeks for delivery which would have delayed our project significantly).

When I walked in, several store associates smiled a greeting but they allowed me to walk around on my own to explore (which I appreciated). After walking around a bit, Jeongyeon (Amber) politely approached me to ask if she could assist me with anything. I explained what I was trying to find for our modest bathroom updates and that I hoped to have the tile ASAP since the contractor would be ready within days. Jeongyeon was so patient as we walked through the aisles together, and she made suggestions and shared tips as I relayed my preferences. She took the time to explain ceramic versus porcelain floor tiles (unprompted by me since this is my first project requiring tiles), the challenges of glass tiles, bullnose versus Schluter transitions, etc. She spent time showing me options, took my feedback into consideration, and then continued to explore with me until we found the perfect combination of floor tile, shower wall/floor tiles, and grout. She even realized that a floor tile on clearance might be perfect (I loved it), and there were just enough tiles (with a few extra) for my project!

After my selections were finalized, Jeongyeon expertly generated a quote (sent to me and my contractor), then reviewed it with me in detail so that I could make my purchase! One item was out of stock at their location, so she arranged for pickup at another store. Her assistance today was invaluable, and I am grateful that she aided me in making selections (this usually takes me a LONG time), staying well within (below actually) my budget and I am thrilled to see how it looks!

Prices were incredibly competitive and the policies are VERY flexible. Returns are allowed for anything unused within 90 days. They sell items per piece so returns are not limited to unopened boxes. They will store your purchase for pickup withing 14 days at no charge.

Contractors who register with their rewards program receive free samples so through my contractor, I was able to come home with some tiles to show my husband what I chose! (The contractor will pick up the purchased tile). Caleb (store manager?) was incredibly helpful and courteous in 1) informing me about this option, 2) helping to provide me with samples.

We bought a floor planks from Floor and Decor couple days ago. First of all, F&D send us 1 damaged packet. After it arrived, we went to return damaged pack and 2 extra ones today.

We went to Waltham location of F&D, and the manager Caterina wouldn’t accept return, because she can’t sell it now. She even asked “if we will buy damaged box?”, but they somehow sell damaged one to us without asking. How ridiculous and improper was that question?? So she was making gaslight as if it was our fault that we got damaged pack?

She kept saying that it’s different store in different location, not the one we bought from. Then what’s the point of having several locations of F&D If I can’t buy and return from the location convenient to me?? She acted that Waltham location is whole different store, not related to F&D.

Moreover, my husband asked her, manager Catarina, before loading the boxes, also asked how the return works by walking and asking her. She even didn’t ask which type of product are we returning, can we return or not at all it in Waltham . She doesn’t care about the customers at all, making them unload and load stuff unnecessarily without asking proper questions. She also doesn’t care about brand F&D itself, cause she consistently kept saying that it’s not her store. It’s different location, it’s different market. Initially we came here by recommendation of our contractor, and we are really disappointed and it’s our first and last time service...

I worked with Felipe, a contractor (Smart flooring llc) that floor and decore uses and insists that we use. I felt like I was getting over priced and the wrong info from this guy. When he came to give the quote, he ignored us when we said we didn't need quarter round around 2 walls due to baseboard heaters being there and just claimed that that's how they do it in general... That doesn't make any sense. If i don't need it in those locations then i don't need it. So he quoted us for way to much of that despite knowing we didn't need it then did the same with the floor leveler. We only had one section slightly uneven that one maybe 2 bags would cover with leftovers. He quoted us for 15 bags! Then we also already took up the carpet and nails and cleaned the entire floor plus already had the flooring and underlayment needed at the house. He quoted us for the job as if he was ripping up the carpet and doing what we already did. Just as we felt like we were getting one pulled over on us, he then claims that he forgot to add delivery fees on top of his already insane fee and claimed that would be 300 more. Give me a break! That's when we knew we were definitely getting screwed. If he's willing to claim 300 is a delivery fee when we already had more than half the project at the house then he's definitely going to over price for the job.
