Superb is where I would start when describing not only the restaurant but the service at Osteria Posto. I held an all day event here yesterday, starting at 8am and ending at 9pm. There was not one point throughout the day where I was not exceptionally impressed with our service. The staff was so attentive during breakfast, bringing out fresh fruit, pastries and coffee at the first sight of anything being remotely low. They continued to freshen up our room and refill beverages, with the most cautious care of keeping quiet for our group. Lunch was served promptly at the time of break, delicious salads and pizza- being sure that all of our guests were satisfied, even making last minute vegetarian options available for an unexpected guest. Ending with light and fluffy tiramisu. Everyone raved about the food! Once our day was ended, we left the private dining area to enjoy the outdoor patio for cocktails while our room was (rapidly) switched over for our evening event. Once I walked into the room, I noticed that it was not quite set up in the best way to see our speaker. Our event planner, Bridget, changed the room up right away exactly how I asked and not one question or fuss about it. Again, food was put out and looked gorgeous and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The only downfall that we experienced was the rowdy group that was sharing the room on the other side of the dividing wall. Bridget, again went above and beyond to try to quiet the group, and then proceeded to check with the Westin Hotel across the street to see if they had a microphone that our speaker could use. At the end of the evening Bridget gave our group a complementary Prosecco toast as an apology for the noisy group...which was completely out of her control not to mention! I can not wait to visit this restaurant again for not only professional use but personal enjoyment as well! For an exceptional and personalized experience I would put Osteria Posto on the very top of my list. I have never endured such a great experience in all the restaurants and venues I have...
Read moreNot impressed. I called ahead & made a reservation. We arrived and the parking was very full. There was a space around the back, so no problem. We told the hostess we arrived & she said the table was almost ready. We waited only a few (5-6) min to be seated. The waitress came over & offered us appetizers/drinks. There were 3 of us. We ordered 2 margaritas & a coke & chips & salsa. The chips came out quickly. We then sat waiting for our drinks. After 30 min we asked the employee at the station behind us, because the waitress hadn’t come back. We said “we ordered drinks 30 min ago & haven’t received them & haven’t placed a food order yet”. She said I’ll check & be right back- we didn’t see her again. After another 10 min, someone came to fill our water glasses for the 3rd time and we told him that we ordered drinks 40 min ago & could he check on them.
Finally, after noticing the table next to us (seated just after us) also with no drinks yet we decided to leave & go to the restaurant next door. The manager (who had been walking back & forth by us for 40 min - not identified as an employee) offered to get us drinks in 5 min & free appetizers. They’re clearly not staffed for the volume of people and the prices. Our waitress appeared to be handling many tables, including a very large party all alone. She was clearing dishes & taking orders & entering the orders one by one into the computer. Many of the reviews here are for Osteria Posto, but the restaurant closed and is now the Painted Burro. Same owners, different menu. We were looking forward to trying it after having great meals at the Davis Sq. location. We were significantly disappointed. If you’re looking to kill time, this is the...
Read moreJust a note- the 4.3 star rating is an extremely skewed rating, the ratings and reviews from the restaurant that was there prior to the painted burro are still included in these 900 reviews. Don't be fooled
Came in to grab a quick lunch on a lunch break, and had a poor experience.
We were set up with water, and then our server didn't come back to us for 35 minutes. We ended up having to flag down multiple staff members to get somebody to take our order. Our food did not come to the table for almost an hour after we arrived at the restaurant, and because we were on a time crunch due to being on a lunch break, we had to rush eating our food and had a very unenjoyable dining experience all around.
Overall, the food was okay but I was not impressed at all for the price. You are charged for chips and salsa here too..if I'm paying $8 for a taco at least expect complimentary chips and salsa
Between the high prices, unimpressive food, and very long wait time, I don't recommend this restaurant.
I don't mind usually paying a small surcharge to help bridge of pay gap for back-of-house employees, but guests need to be informed of that ahead of time and it should be something that can be opted out of. The prices for this restaurant are already unreasonably high, and adding an additional 5% in the way the business does feels like they are getting one over on the customer. I can't fathom how a place that charges so much for their food is not able to pay their employees a living wage.
Given the area we are in, there are so many better Mexican restaurants to choose from. Amuletos, Taqueria El Amigo and Los Amigos Taqueria all have higher quality, more authentic food with...
