The Tulip Library (aka the Floral Library) is a hidden and overlooked gem near the Tidal Basin, the middle, forgotten child amongst cherry blossoms and swan boats. Established in 1969 as part of Lady Bird Johnson's Capital Beautification Project, the Floral Library has over 90 flower beds maintained by the National Park Service. These beds contain tulips or annuals depending on what's been planted that season.
Located on the north side of the Tidal Basin, the Floral Library is a secret garden that is often stumbled upon but never looked for. There are nearly 100 varieties of tulips on display.
