Menick's Market — Attraction in Washington

I can honestly say that Menick's Market has made an everlasting impression on me. I was expecting the usual strictly business, unfamiliar, customer/proprietor, monotone shopping experience I'm most commonly met with in places like this but the moment I walked in I knew this place was different. The owners warmly welcomed me and treated me in such a kind, respectful manner that by the time I found what I needed and was ready to pay for my items (which they have an abundance of), It felt like I've been coming here for years. It felt like fam! I decided to get something from the deli for lunch and ordered a sub...OFF THE HOOK! Hands down the best deli sub I've ever had. I highly recommend getting one. You will not be disappointed! Aside from being a great place to shop, Menick's is so much more. With all the negativity, prejudice, hatred and cruelty plaguing our communities more and more each day, knowing that quality, kindness, and community still exists in a local corner store is truly inspirational! THIS IS MY FAVE NEIGHBORHOOD STORE YAYYY I am so glad to put a 5 star review on this paticular store. My husband and i have really loved that they have everything we need there and has been a serious life saver these past couple of months and I REALLY LOVE THE FACT THAT IF THERE WAS ANYTHING THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE, THAT THEY WOULD THE EXTRA MILE TO GET IT FOR US To PURCHASE!! The owners Lorraine and her hubby are so cool too and I said before they really go out thier way to keep us happy. They told me awhile ago to gather a list if I ever needed anything that they did not have and I Did and THEY did an outstanding service to me and my family. Long story short. As one of the few small grocers in the neighborhood, Menick's consistently delivers.

The owners and staff are helpful and friendly and there is a good selection of perishable and non-perishable goods. They are almost always open (9am to 9pm). They even have some fresh fruit and vegetables and are receptive if you ask for them to consider stocking more items. They just renovated the interior of the store to have even more offerings. The prices are good too.

For example, last weekend I was able to buy everything I needed for a backyard BBQ garden party including hot dogs, buns, chips, ice, juices, beer, and ice cream. They even gave me some free popsicle sticks to help me label where I planted the seeds in my garden.
