C.C. McCray City Auditorium — Attraction in Waycross

I wish I could give this business more stars because it has potential, but what happened during our event yesterday was unacceptable.

First, let me talk about the sound. The sound was an integral part of our event. Not only did the sound fail to work, but the venue sent us a person from the cleaning crew disguised as a sound director. This "director" showed up 45 minutes late (10 minutes before the event) and it was evident she had zero knowledge of what she was doing and how the sound worked. She had to call another guy in who had more knowledge, but it was to no avail. As a cherry on top, she was unnecessarily rude.

Our event's program was delayed an entire hour due to sound issues that could have been solved if this business just invested in better equipment and a knowledgeable staff to run such equipment. Our host had to stall our guests to prevent them from leaving during the time it took to remedy the sound issue.

Did the sound eventually work? No, it didn't. We had to rely on a Bluetooth speaker brought in by one of our key speakers to play music and sound. On top of that, the microphones kept malfunctioning by way of going in and out as our speakers spoke into them. At times, the sound on the microphones simply did not work and had to be remedied.

The technology was extremely obsolete, and the venue used Wi-Fi rather than an ethernet connection. For a large venue such as this one, that means the Wi-Fi was extremely slow. It would have taken 10 hours to download our video on their Wi-Fi connection. A venue this size definitely needs a wired ethernet connection. We ended up having to use a mobile hotspot (not provided by the venue) to play our video. We played the video on a borrowed projector because the venue's projector was damaged, and they refuse to replace it. Again, the sound of the video was made audible by a borrowed Bluetooth speaker not provided by the venue.

Basically, these amenities we paid to have access to were not available to us and we had to rely on outside sources to make this event happen. I am writing this review because I'm hoping it will prompt the venue to invest in a better internet connection, sound equipment, customer service, and a working projector.
