Came from Florida to meet a friend while on the way to NC , it was definitely out of the way for me and the directions Google gave me (ugh, had to wait for the train to pass) Apparently the locals know how to get around it. But well worth it to see my friend and eat at LL Creek.
I don't remember our servers name , A cute blonde gal , she's pregnant ( maybe that'll narrow it down because I would like her to get credit for her good service )
My friend and I hadn't seen each other in years so we weren't paying much attention to looking at the menu , she brought us our drinks, gave us plenty of time to look over the menu . we settled on fried calamari and the bottle caps ( fried jalapeño slices) Both really good.
I have to say though, I am not a fan of restaurants that have such an expanded menu . It's just too much to look through . You can't please everyone, there's no reason to have 4-5 page menu to try .
We chose shrimp dinners with two sides . She had Caribbean Jerk and I had Coconut, Both were really good, I never had such big shrimp before at a restaurant. I had Lima beans with bacon , fried corn . I can't remember what my friend got in addition to corn . Everything was good and we got the dinner portions which were huge , but it was a great snack while I was on the road .
We got there at 4 on a Friday night , wasn't busy at all but filled up closer to dinner . we left at 6 , we never once felt rushed by our server , she kept our drinks refilled . I'm glad my friend chose LLCreek Bar and Grille for our...
Read moreAfter traveling all day we wanted steak. Called ahead to check on kitchen closing time because we were 90 minutes away. Staff said everything closes at 9PM. Arrived at 8:20pm & after a brief stand wondering where everyone was (except for the 7 people drinking outside on the back porch) we were seated by a nice waitress. Ordered gator tail & onion rings as an appetizer, 2 steaks (rare) w/ fried squash & zuchini. The gator tail was cooked well however, using the batter from the zuchini would have made it better. Our gator also had pieces of fried onion and jalepenos mixed in with it. The zuchini and squash were great. We asked for ranch dressing for the onion rings and the waitress brought us 3 tubs because the cooks closed the salad supplies. (time 8:40 pm). The steaks (which is what they were rated so high on) were pathetic. They were obviously cooked on a cold grill as there were no sear marks or crust. The inside of the steaks were colder than blue & the steaks were cold to the touch. Needless to say they went back to the kitchen, came back 10 mins later barely warm enough to eat. Starving, we ate anyway. The barkeeper closed the bar promptly at 9PM. At 9:07PM the men that were outside drinking on the back porch, came inside and began stacking chairs on the table next to us while we were still eating. Once finished, the barkeeper gave them each a bottle of beer as payment for their work. We finished, paid, and will never ever go...
Read moreTook my Wife, Mom, and Grandma here for mother's day. Waited over 30m to be seated. Food took over an hour to arrive after placing our order. My steak was at least 2/3 fat and way overcooked. The steak I ordered was a "delmonico"(not) and was $31. My wife ordered a ribeye that was equally dreadful. We were both served bland baked potatoes with only butter. My mom ordered a chicken club sandwich with mac and cheese, and her entire meal arrived cold, like it had been sitting. The server rarely checked on us, wife had to flag her down for a drink refill twice. After we had decided we couldn't eat any more disappointing food, we waited for the check so we could go. The server then walked past us to the next room. Followed her back to a smoking area in the restaurant (outdoor "porch" area where all the garage doors were down so it was enclosed) where all the employees were chatting and smoking. I got the check and went to pay. I asked the owner about the issues, where I was cursed at and told to "get out". I should also mention that the table next to us had 3 different food orders delivered to their table that wasn't there's, so clearly the owner has major anger issues, the staff doesn't have a clue what's going on and the cooks belong at Golden corral. Our bill was $130 for 4 people to have e the worst dining experience we've ever encountered in waycross. Wouldn't recommend this place to the guy who...
