I’m very disappointed with this nail salon, after giving them three attempts. I should’ve looked at all the reviews to save money, and not get hurt. Rude, uncleanliness, poor service, not professional and push you to spend more money on products you don’t want and make comments when you say no.
I’ve personally tried this place twice and I had my mother try it herself and we are both deeply dissatisfied with their work and cleanliness. I’ve been to other salons where they sterilize their tools in a machine and open the package it infront of you. I notice here that they do not do that and I did not see any sterilization before or after receiving manicure/pedicure only a splash of what I hope was rubbing alcohol. Which is scary because they have nicked and made me bleed multiple times during my two visits.
The first time I had the nail artist Ofra I believe her name was, she did a horrible job on my nails I wanted a nude unicorn and she rushed my appointment, so the chrome was not rubbed in correctly. Also, she talks on the phone the entire appointment as well and made me bleed again by not being careful with filing with the drill. I had soft gel on before and she drilled it off to the bare nail and that was so painful. It’s poor work ethic, and lazy. Other salons would take the time to soak it off so you’re not damaging the nail or hurting the person. I went back and expressed my concerns to Sam, he redid the unicorn chrome ontop and it was better than before but no similar to what it should be.
The following time I went I was booked to get someone else to do my nails because Sam was “booked”(I overheard that he had availability in the afternoon when I went, I was free the entire day) and they gave me the same person as before. She again nicked my nails and they curve like a birds beak now, and the tips aren’t painted so it looks weird. Also I attached photos of what I wanted and what I got which do not look close to what I wanted. I did not want a bright red and I wanted it to be blended more to the darker side as shown in the picture provided. I asked for more black and I got pushed back on that as well.
I wanted my mom to go to see her opinion and what she received and experienced finalized my opinions. She had a horrible experience with sam , she wanted dip and they pushed and pushed for her to get gel. She gave in and Sam rushed her appointment as well. He did not clean up around the edges or let her have what she wanted, dip. She also received a pedicure by Jasmine and the whole time the lady was complaining and pushing for my mother to get gel as well when she wanted regular polish. My mom said next time and the lady had the audacity to say you won’t come back. As well, “ you spend money on your hair but not for gel.” That is very rude to say and money shame. My mother does her own hair and wanted regular polish not to be belittled. Which yes neither of us will after the treatment and the sloppiness of their work. In addition, She cut her toenails when all my mother asked for was for it to be filed. And then she painted all over her nails, and skin and they came out smudged. They also do not provide any massage, stones while doing a pedicure. There are less expensive salons that offer more.
Overall it feels like a factory line, get it done quick to get the next customer. I do not see any sterilization procedures, and they push for you to spend more for gel. Original I was going to give two stars only because they do have color options, and Sam fixed my nails from the first time the other person messed up. But after the comments my mother received during her pedicure, this place lacks professionalism and etiquette. I brought up my concerns to talk about it in person the first time before posting a review but after two more attempts and same issues, I...
Read moreI got a UV gel fill in with a regular pedicure, and overall I am happy with the result. I am VERY particular when it comes to nail shape and consistency and overall my nail technician did a good job. There were a few things that had to be corrected, but he was very friendly and willing to make the adjustments which I appreciated. For the manicure and pedicure themselves I would probably give a 4/5 (definitely not the best I’ve had done but they look pretty good). The color selection is also very good and I found the price to be reasonable ($72 total for both services). HOWEVER, I will not be returning to Happy Nails Bar and Spa for a few big reasons that outweigh the nice nail results. The first and biggest reason is cleanliness. Their counters (and every surface really), tools, polish, etc. are all COATED with dust from performing various manicures. I have never sat down in a chair feeling like the counter and tools were so dirty before. It also did not appear like they were using new or clean files and heads for their tools and the towel used on my hands at the end also did not appear to be completely clean. The cords coming out from behind the TV were also so caked with dust that parts of them looked white. These are infection and sanitation issues which should not be taken lightly and made me very uncomfortable. The pedicure station appeared to be and felt more hygienic though. Another major reason is their lack of ventilation. I’ve been in a lot of nail salons and this facility had some of the worst ventilation I’ve ever seen. The fumes were very apparent and very strong. It was so strong that I didn’t even get used to it, I was still smelling it very clearly after over 2 hours with a mask on. This is also a health hazard, not just to customers but to their staff who are sitting there for hours a day. The third reason is no price transparency. As I mentioned before, their price was reasonable to me, but there was no signage indicating what it actually should be. This makes me think that they do not charge customers consistently. Lastly, they were way too pushy with the upsells. They must have tried to convince me to switch from a regular pedi to a gel pedi at least 5 different times coming from 3 different people. Totally understand asking the first time and maybe even the second, but past that point you need to accept your customer’s answer and perform the service that they want. I noticed this trend with a young girl next to me as well. The nail technician was trying to convince a 12 year old (I’m estimating) girl to get her mom to pay for hard gel instead of just a gel polish manicure. Even after the girl said just gel polish MULTIPLE times, the technician kept pushing her. That’s not appropriate and not fair to the customer, especially when it’s...
Read moreWent here for the second time and am very disappointed. 3 weeks ago I got acrylic nails done. When I came home they hurt my nails and I wasn’t happy. After 3 weeks I decided to have them removed because I didn’t like them and they still hurt/were uncomfortable. When I was there and said I wanted them removed, 2 different people questioned why I wanted them off and like me not liking them wasn’t a valid enough reason. When I went to get them removed, the employee used another nail to pull them off - he would wedge the corner under my nails to lift it and pull, there was no soaking, nothing. It absolutely destroyed my nails (see picture). After 4 nails the technician stopped this method and grinded/filed them off instead. I was asked if I got my acrylics done at this salon and the technician seemed shocked to hear that I got it done there. He even asked me who did them and when I said “the lady next to you” he shook his head. My nails were so brittle and fragile from this. I was then told not to get acrylics again because I didn’t have the right type of nails for it. I showed him my inspo pic for my nails and explained the color changes I wanted and he said he could do it. The inspo pic is provided (blue nails) and the pink is what I received. When I was finished he even said something a long the lines that he didn’t work with such short nails and I could tell he knew they looked bad. I was never asked what nail shape I wanted and some are square and some are round. By the time I got home (20 min) my nail color started turning purple (see picture of thumb). It’s been a few hours since I left and one nail already chipped. I am so disappointed. The employee was very nice I appreciated how he handled this situation - he did try his best… but honestly this is just terrible. I wasn’t going to leave a bad review because of how the employee did try to rectify the situation but… this is just too much. I feel like I can’t even take it off because my nails will just fall apart with it and be worse. On a positive note - I got a pedicure with Denise (I think that was her name) and that came out well and...
