RESPONSE TO ALPS RESPONSE: Did you check the video footage to review with your staff how not to react to customers? Did you check the video footage to see what you could do differently to avoid always having an empty parking lot? Did you check the video footage to see your manager chase us out the door and hold the door to prevent us from leaving while I’m holding my daughter? I see a lot of bad reviews on here as well. Maybe you can take the time to read them throughly and train your staff to provide “great customer service”. Calling customers liars over a bad review doesn’t make you look any better.
I was there on Saturday night around 6:30 PM. It was not our first time there, so seeing the parking lot empty, it was no surprise to us. They usually do not have a lot of people, but the food has always been decent. When we went inside, we saw that we were the only customers in the diner. The staff seated my husband while my sister, daugher, and I went to the restroom. When we returned to the too small booth we were approached by our waitress. We didn’t get a warm welcome at all. Not a “hello”, or a “how are you guys?” Absolutely nothing. Her first question was “what do you want to drink?” as if she did not want to serve us. We gave our drink order, and my 3 year old (who apparently had more manners than this adult) thanked the waitress without even an acknowledgement from her. When she came back, my husband was ordering his food (one of the dinners) and she asked for our menus before asking him if wanted soup and/or a vegetable. My husband asked what soup they had before she just started walking away, and she told him after a huge sigh, and very rudely. When he made his choice, she asked if he wanted that instead of the fries. My husband was confused because he thought the menu said it didn’t come with fries, so he tried to ask what she was talking about. She then started arguing with him over whether it came with fries or not instead of just clarifying what the item came with. After she started to walk away, my husband asked her if she was okay because it was pretty clear she did not want to wait on us. She then tried to again argue about the fries and at that point we had enough. We stood from the table and left. My husband asked to cancel our order, and that is when the owner tried to pull him back in by his arm. The owner tried to explain that dinner was on him and to come back - giving the impression that this has happened before. When we declined, he tried to pull the door closed so we could not get out. It was ridiculous. We will never go back and I will tell my friends & relatives to not even bother going here in the future. Bad business for a diner that seems to never...
Read moreWas there on a saturday night at around 6:30 PM. My sister, brother-in-law, and I decided to stop in with my three year old niece even though there was hardly any cars in the parking lot. But, we had been there several times before, and the food was always decent. I have even ordered take out from them for lunch. We came into a completely empty resturant except for the person at the front and several wait staff sitting in booths on their phones. We were greated by the always friendly woman who sat my brother-in-law while my sister and I took our niece to the restroom. When we got to the table the waitress came over to take our drink orders. Not only was she not welcoming at all, but it was almost as though we were bothering her for being there. She did not say hello - just angrily asked what we wanted to drink and responded with a “yup” each time one of us ordered. When she came back with our drinks, she didn’t even acknowledge my niece when she tried to talk to her. While we were still ordering our food, she asked for our menus before we were even finished. My brother-in-law then asked her what kind of soup they had, since the menu stated that his dinner came with a soup. Apparently that was the wrong question to ask, because she acted like that question was the most offensive question she ever heard. She angrily rattled off the soups with a disgusted look on her face. When my brother-in-law said what he wanted, she asked him if he wanted the soup instead of whatever else came with it. My bother-in-law tried to clarify if the soup came with the meal, and she started arguing with him instead. My brother-in-law then asked if she was okay because it was quite clear that she did not want us there, and she instead continued to argue about the soup. After she finally responded with a “wow” and walked away shaking her head and rolling her eyes at us, we were done. I have never experienced service like that in my life. We decided it was time to go and told them to cancel our order. As we were leaving, the owner tried to grab my brother-in-laws arm serveral times and then tried to hold the door closed to block us from leaving saying the food was on him. We declined. We will never stop here or order take out from...
Read moreWhen we pulled up we weren't sure about it - the parking lot looked a little worse for wear, but when we got out we saw the building looked well kept. We walked in and the first thing my child noticed was that they had a proud wall of the local high school hockey team which we loved. The staff is very sensitive to their customers. We were seated and were immediately attended to. Our waiter took our orders and was very attentive - I ordered the chicken suvlaki with a side salad and asked for the salad with no onion - a couple of minutes later he returned and asked if I wanted the chicken suvlaki without onion as well (I hadn't realized it came with). While we were seated, the hostess noticed my husband trying to catch the news and she turned the TV to face him so he could see clearly. Those two instances really made us feel welcomed. Our food arrived promptly and it was fresh and delicious. The portions were generous. Would definitely come here again. The menu is very large - there is something...
