This compact park in located in Charlotte, near the towns of Matthews, Weddington and Pineville. The trail is about 1/2 mile in length and is one of Mecklenburg counties several nature preserves. The boardwalk will lead you into the Stone Creek Ranch community but hang a right before the bridge and you’ll enter onto the short wooded trail that circles the park. Private, lots of weekend visitors on so plan ahead before heading out. There’s about 15 parking spots available for guests and a picnic shelter next to the clean and well kept restrooms. Yes, Coyotes are everywhere in NC, but this area bulldozed a golf course to make Rea Farms at Waverly. When I drive by late at night, the coyotes are walking out of the park standing in packs by the road. Just be aware walking pets, or with toddlers.
