*Update/May: -Last pic is recent is our recent visit- They got new management. Staff is dispersed and with no too welcoming vibes and they take too much time to serve you properly even though it is a small place and there weren't many customers, . The quality has dropped dramatically, it tastes like basic Americanized Asian food. Very sad, not coming back.
February: We have been looking for a good Japanese place with a bit more authentic roots for a long time, but some of the places we like have closed permanently and others are a bit far from home or just disappointed⦠Today, Valentine's Day, we wanted something that we felt comfortable with, and Japanese is always an excellent option for us
My fiancƩ found this place less than 15min from home and it was already 8:50 but luckily they closed at 10, yei~
I looked at the menu on the way to the place to order quick, not only because I was hungry but to be respectful to the staff by not staying past closing time
So when we got there, we ordered some sake, two appetizers, and two entreè. For the appetizers we ordered one of our favorites (pork gyoza) but steamed instead of fried, the flavor was just perfect; we also had a scallop ceviche, something we had never seen before, a sour flavor as expected but still delicious; my fiancé ordered a Katsucurry, something excellent for him because he likes Katsu and curry and having a combination of them was incredible; and for me, I ordered one of my favorites, Tonkotsu Ramen so it's been a long time since I tried a ramen that was balanced not only in flavor, but in ingredients and portion, I applaud this kitchen, they gave me back an important piece of my soul that was missing by finding again a place where you know they know what they are doing and that they put effort and love into the dishes; We both also had salad and Collin had a miso soup, again, even the salad dressing and soup were divine, everything tasted super fresh
I want you guys to know that I am taking my time to leave a long review because it has been a long time since we found a place that we would like to frequent. They have a good selection of sake, wines and cocktails and a great variety of sushi as well. We will definitely be back for dinner again or for lunch with family or friends or for the happy hour that they mention us on Wednesdays. The place is very nice-well designed and clean and everyone was very friendly
I congratulate this places, you made my night and my Valentine's Day, much success and I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time here, mixed experience. This was our first time at this restaurant. There are definitely some positives:
Pros: Cozy and small space, which feels welcoming One-page menu- love that! Itās simple and not overwhelming Cocktails were delicious
Cons: Unfortunately, there were more downsides, though itās clear the new owners are really trying, and thatās appreciated. The servers seemed more focused on chatting with each other than on the guests. Our order was entered into the system but then forgotten for a while. The sushi rolls were disappointing. The āspecialā roll was the same size as the regular one, which doesnāt match the price difference. My rainbow roll was small and even had a fish bone in it.
On the bright side, the manager (or maybe the owner) handled the situation very professionally, she took both rolls off the bill and also gave us a free dessert. That gesture really stood out.
We might come back again to give it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad dinner with a friend at Miku Japanese restaurant. It was an extremely hot day out and the air conditioning inside was blasting. We asked them to turn it up and they said they did but they definitely didnāt. Once we got our menus, we probably waited about 12 minutes until someone came to ask if we wanted anything. We didnāt know it at the time, but our server was in the cornertalking it up with somebody. The food was OK. We had the salad to start and then I had two of their specialty sushi rolls and two pieces of tuna sushi and two pieces of tamago sushi. Everything was fresh and pretty basic. The prices were pretty reasonable as well. My friend had salmon sashimi and she liked it. The server was bragging that she didnāt need to write our order down- that she had an amazing memory, but ended up forgetting our vegetable potstickers. They ended up bringing them at the end of our meal. All in all, it was OK. Not sure if I...
