I want to point out I have NEVER taken time out of my day to write a review, but rather than go up to the store and cause a scene, I decided this might also make me feel a little better and be more appropriate. My boyfriend told me about his visit to this pawn shop and my blood was boiling. After hearing his story and reading the first review that popped up when I chose to write one, I am convinced that the woman in this pawn shop is a problem. He was polite and patient about the situation whereas I would have definitely had a more negative reaction. He purchased a game controller from the store, went home and realized the controller did not work correctly. He then recorded the improper performance of the controller and showed the guy who handled his transaction (the youngest male of the family). He said the boy's made a face as if he knew there was an issue and that they wouldn't be able to help. Meanwhile the woman of the shop keeps budding into the conversation with unhelpful and unnecessary comments. The woman kept trying to make my boyfriend seem as though he was being aggressive and I can assure you she was projecting her own aggression onto him. An older male tried to step in and also started responding to my boyfriend as if he was being aggressive, therefore unnecessarily lengthening the process and his visit to their store. My boyfriend respected their no-return policy, but did NOT appreciate when they ACCUSED him of wiping off a serial number. Mind you throughout this entire process the woman of the store is still sticking her nose in the conversation with more unhelpful comments. By now the youngest has exit the area , which I would not have let happen had I been there. The whole time I'm listening to this story I am shocked at my boyfriends patience with these people. The ONLY reason I gave them one star is because the older man finally calmed down enough to realize my boyfriend did NOT come to cause trouble and he helped him find an online pawn shop to purchase another controller. He informed him that online shops do have to do returns and once again the lady puts in her 2 cents to say, "That's why you buy things brand new baby, to avoid these things." As she works at a family pawn shop puts on face of confusion. The head huncho at the pawn shop (the lady with the mouth) will probably run their customers off. I can only imagine how she talks to someone who is ACTUALLY...
Read moreBUYERS BEWARE !!!! READ THIS FIRST!! The woman that owns this pawn shop is probably the one writing all the good reviews. I personally have been buying from pawn shops for almost 20 years because of the fact that they really are a good place to find slightly used power tools usually well under retail for new. I went to this shop for the first time and I was ASTONISHED at the prices they had on all of their inventory. They had used PlayStation 3 controllers for 49.99 when u can buy them BRAND NEW at bestbuy for 39.99. As I looked around at their tools and used my phone to compare prices on the internet I was SHOCKED by how much over RETAIL she was asking for everything in the store. I was looking at a specific tool that is hard to come by used, but after checking multiple websites I realized I could purchase it for over 100.00 less than her asking price compared to BRAND NEW! When I tried to bring this to her attention she quickly snatched the item out if my hand and told me "I know where to get my prices." Well obviously she doesn't because EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING was over retail. This was a 200.00 digital measuring device and she wouldn't even let me inspect it to make sure it was functioning properly. In the thousands of pawn shops I've bought from nationwide, I've never had an owner tell me I couldn't inspect the item before I purchased it. Some more examples- Dewalt drills that are 99.00 new at Lowes she's asking 169.00, BRAND NEW Corded Dewalt reciprocating saw- 119.00 at Lowes and 199.00 in her shop all beat up and used. She was very rude and all she offered to do was sell me the used item for the same price I could by it new, which of course I passed, telling her I would rather by new for cheaper (including shipping) and I would never return to her shop. By far the WORST pawn shop I've been in, in my entire life and I've been in tons of them! BUYERS BEWARE THIS WOMAN IS RUDE AN IN MY OPINION IS TRYING TO RIP OFF UNEDUCATED BUYERS. DON'T LET HER GET YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY THAT YOU COULD SAVE BUYING SOMEWHERE ELSE! JUST A WARNING TO POTENTIAL BUYERS!...
Read moreI went in today to try and pawn a couple of my electronics to come up with the remaining funds($55) to rent a uhaul for a move today. I went here based on the customer service reviews on google and more specifically from the owner, Ms. Cook. I truly believed I would walk out with a great feeling to have came up with something extra for the uhaul. As I began the process, i already felt a "unwelcoming" vibe from the store. The only person who spoke/addressed me was the lady who serviced me.(african american female with glasses). Even when I approached the counter and another gentlemen was causally eating a lunch order directly across from me. The lady who helped me said that she already knew she couldnt nothing with one of my items. Dont know how based on a visual(potentially could have sold faster than most items I seen). She then fielded a called and began assisting someone on the phone about a compressor. Working retail/hospitality, I learned this is a big "negative". This made me feel my business already not sufficient enough for them opposed to someone who was not even present in person. At that point my morale dropped a little more. She then hung up and said that she looked in their system for my other item and could not find it and without the packaging and something else she could not do anything with it. I politely said thank you and left. But at that point, I walked out the store feeling that I was not helped because I may have been seen as have stolen the items or something. I am not going to say that was the intention on her side but as a potential customer/ consumer, thats how I felt walking out the door, defeated possibly because of a pre-judging that led to the idea that I was not credible to do business. I will not return nor refer any business here based on my...
