Armory Auction House — Local services in West Columbia

I bid and won a purse for $32.50. The title was, "Marked Couch Purse". They posted one picture of the outside of the purse. Since it said "Marked", I trusted it had the marking label on the inside, as all authentic Coach purses do. When it arrived, the purse was CLEARLY a fake. No marking and a PU, not leather, strap. I had purchased an authentic designer purse from them last month, so I felt it was just a mistake...maybe a new employee assessing the merchandise and creating the listing. Not the case. I was offered as a one time courtesy to send the valueless purse back for a refund, but would not be refunded buyers cost or shipping to me. Basically, I would be re-couping 12 bucks (shipping back to them would be at least $20) and they have the purse to list again to fool someone else. It was not marked. They flat out lied. Dude went on and on how they use the word "marked" to mean something different then everyone else in the estate/auction business. And on and on about how I should have called them with questions. What? Was I to call them, an auction house, and ask what their definition of "marked" is? After I wouldn't accept his BS, he offered a partial refund without me having to send the trash bag back. I told him to keep his little money; my pride is not for sale. What is wrong...

I won an online auction that Armory was conducting through the online auction site HiBid. Here's my experience: I won two lots of model trains. Shipping was reasonably quick but when I opened the package I discovered they'd sent someone elses' items to me. Long story short, it turned out that a key member of their staff had just had their father-in-law pass away and they'd gotten mine and the other person's packages mixed up. Once they were able to determine where my package was, they sent me a new prepaid shipping label for the other person's address. When asked, they verified and confirmed with me that they'd spoken with the other person and he'd already dropped off my package. The photos of my items weren't the best; but these are not 'train people' and I am. I saw enough to bid and I got an amazing value for what I spent. My $30 bid on one lot easily exceeded over $300 in value. I tripled my money (at least) on the other lot. They never ducked my calls or emails; they apologized for the mistake; they made it right; and it's a deal that I'm VERY happy with. I can't ask for...

Years ago, after being mocked by the staff sitting around their round table, I told myself I would never step back in this auction place again. My wife bought a couple items today, I arrived at the auction to pay for and pick up the items. The cigarette stench was horrible. I used one of their dollies to load tha two items which weren't very heavy. The tire on the dolly was wobbling and came off. I parked it used a different dolly. I loaded the two pieces of furniture and left, not thinking about the broken dolly. About an hour later I received a call stating I had broken their dolly and was told they had a witness. Their were people around when the wheel came off and to me, knowing I had done nothing to break the already wobbly dolly, I really wasn't concerned. Without doubt I will never step foot at this nasty auction...
