Advertised as $15 per person one day only regardless of weather, I was charged $16 per person and an additional fee when purchasing tickets online totaling $35.10. While in a smallish park like setting with a historical society and quaint older homes and structures, the juried show, with artists paying an admission fee, itself did showcase some talented artists but also many crafters, local wineries and breweries. Items for sale were expensive including the food, ice cream, and drinks. Parking was frustrating with no clear fee structure. Some people were bussed in while others parked for free on the street next to the homes then there was a very large field across Route 117 where we parked for free, so why the need for the bus? Barriers were set up at various points and with so much security you felt hemmed in. Is the intention that this be a once in a lifetime event? Perhaps better to visit this area at another time to enjoy the park, homes, or the private lake ($24 per person 13 and over pre-purchase required) and go to a local art festival on Main...
Read moreWe went for my Birthday and while the area is very charming I was turned off by the money grab mentality. Seems to be the case past Covid anymore..... My husband bought our tickets online and that was the first turn off with the "convenience fee" tacked on. Remember when that wasn't a thing? I got a sense it was a tourist trap NIMBY. I am the daughter of an artist and bi costal grew up in California with true artist colonies that was so much more enjoyable. I am a crafter too. It just rubbed me the wrong way and I'm sure the vendors paid plenty for their spot. It was very expensive. I enjoyed seeing the creativity and exploring a past gem of an area. I didn't buy anything or food since it was so expensive. Glad to experience it once but won't return. I see this going the way of New Hope...
Read moreAfter today 8/17 I’m sure you will see more low reviews as hundreds of people decided to turn around and go home after waiting up to an hour and a half to get into the show. I and numerous other cars sat on Butler road for 40 plus minutes not moving. Cars coming the other way we’re telling us to turn around as they had been waiting for over an hour. 10 cars turned around including me and I’m sure many more did the same thing. Event site reviews are voicing the same complaints. Not sure if the new parking is an issue but I for one will not be coming back next year. Event coordinators dropped the ball on this. Oh well, $$ saved....with the exception of gas while car idled for over 40...
