I give the market 5 stars but the food truck just 1 star. The market had a great variety of good fresh seafood, but that day I opted to try a shrimp poboy at the food truck. The only shrimp I ever buy or order are wild caught from the gulf, which the market sells. Before placing my poboy order I asked the cook what kind of shrimp he was using. He didn’t know, but went to look. Well, the shrimp were from an Asian country. What? I was expecting the fresh Gulf shrimp that the market was selling. No thanks. I went to Joseph’s Market and got lasagna. No telling where the fish was from either. Very disappointed. I’m going to the market next week for the gulf shrimp to...
Read moreI love to buy locally. Visited twice to make sure the first trip was not a fluke. The first visit was on a holiday weekend. First visit purchased Golden Tilefish, Oysters, and Stone Crab Claws. Shucked open 4 oysters and threw the dozen in the trash. Smelled very funky. Golden Tilefish was still edible but definitely not fresh, almost borderline. Stone Crab Claws as expected fresh and great. Second visit. This time, I asked them to open the Lids to visually inspect before I purchase. Needless to say, I did not make a purchase on this trip. Visually not fresh and a slight smell of ammonia when the Lids were lifted. What a bummer to drive to Delray Beach or PGA...
Read moreI called today (Monday) and asked if they had large stone crabs and was told yes so I asked if they would put #2 lbs on hold for me? One hour later, I went there and they had no large just medium so I was in a bind and took them. When I went to serve them, you could smell ammonia and they were slimy inside. I looked up what to do when you smell that and it said not to eat but unfortunately we had already eaten several. They lied when they said they would hold 2 lbs of large for me, I think these were left over from the weekend and wanted to get rid of them. I bought other items there and will be throwing...
