Art Imagined — Attraction in West View

So glad to have this creative place in Wexford!!! I have been bringing my kids to Art Imagined since it opened. We LOVE it!!! We have gone to several "Crafternoons" and each time it has been a new and engaging creative activity. Let's be honest, as a mom of little kids I like when my kids are creative and make art. But I love when they make art somewhere I don't have to clean up! We have also attended the story time and art which is REALLY cool because there is a connection between the book and the art they make. Heather and everyone who works there are encouraging and patient, essential when working with kids.

I have also taken a couple of basics of watercolor classes myself. I was a little scared to try something new, mostly because I was afraid to "get it wrong." But Heather encouraged me to express myself and see the possibilities in what I can do. It felt so good to make something unique that I could be proud of!

If you are local to Pittsburgh and you/your kids have never been to Art Imagined, you are missing out! We first discovered Miss Heather & Art Imagined through a friend and my daughter did a couple summer camps there. Heather partners with our elementary school and both of my daughters have participated in an after school art club. I've never met a kid who didn't like Miss Heather and have a great time at Art Imagined. Heather is very chill, silly, unique, and fun. Her ability to encourage creativity in kids and guide them in discovering the world of art is very special. Recently I asked Heather if we could do a family art night. She was very easy to work with/schedule with and offered idea suggestions at affordable price points. We did acrylic paint pours on canvas. It was a really fun process and great to watch the kids play and get to play and get messy along with them (and not in my house!!!) 28 seconds...

My daughter does weekly one-on-one classes at Art Imagined. Heather is a great teacher, and my daughter absolutely loves working with her. We especially love the warm-ups that she gives at the beginning of the class because they are creative, dynamic, and engaging. Not only is she knowledgeable, but she is also very patient and gives her students a lot of independence in choosing what they want to work on. She is supportive and respects each student's unique style and viewpoints. Not only that, but I also get a chance to do ART with my daughter each time I am there...
