Florence Pizza and Pasta — Restaurant in West View

Summary: The shop was closed when I arrived to pick up my order. It was finally ready 2 hours late, and the crust was burnt.

I ordered at 1:15 using Slice and received a confirmation email stating the order will be ready at 1:25. A few minutes later, I received an email that my order was taking longer than usual due to high volumes and would be ready at 2:05. I arrived at the shop at that time to find the lights off, doors locked, and no cars in the lot. I called the shop’s number to be told that my order would be ready in 35-40 minutes.

In the meantime, I ordered from another nearby pizza shop to fed my house full of hangry people; it was ready in 20 minutes.

I got a call from Florence around 3:00 stating that my order was ready for pickup (no email or text from Slice). I did pick it up around 4:00, long after my guests and I devoured the pizza from the other shop. The employee apologized with a slice of cake; I didn’t have the energy to haggle for a refund. The pizza crust was burnt. I ended up giving the pizza to neighbors. Thus ends...

This is my pizza place. Everyone has their choice, and this one is mine. Florence serves a fantastic cheese pizza with a slightly crispy crust with a perfect balance of sauce and cheese. They don't spoil their cheese pizza with provolone and have a great sauce that isn't sweet and holds on the pizza perfectly.

Florence also offers other food that is great. Their pesto margarita was a wonderful change of pace with a homemade pesto sauce lovely globs of mozz.

The choices of 5 sizes of pizza allow you to get a small pie if it is just you at home or a jumbo pie that feeds the whole family.

Their store is small up front, but they make up for it with some of the nicest folks in Pittsburgh. New to the area, they are loving the town here and quickly making themselves at home here in the North Hills.

In a town that has a pizza shop in every plaza, Florence stands out with high-quality ingredients, great pizza, and a fantastic family run shop. I look forward to many more delicious pizzas and lots of other options...

We ordered pizza late one night last weekend, and never got the order. we have been talking to Slice (the online ordering company) and even called the pizza place themselves and they refuse to give us a refund or make it right. They said the delivery driver left the pizza outside but again we never received it. it even said on slice the pizza was delivered at 5:20 am when we ordered around 3 am. we even checked our neighbors doors that night when we didn’t have it outside our door. just disappointing that they won’t at least make it right and/or refuse to let slice give us a refund. we have ordered from them many times with no issues but it’s good to know if there is one they don’t care enough to make it right with...
