Dollar General — Local services in West View

Store has most everything that is needed for quick shopping trip. Staff always helpful, and congenial. Store is a little small for the immediate area, doesn't have the square footage that it needs to be effective. Sister stores are within 3 miles, however they are not always convenient time wise if it is close to the 9:00P.M. closing time. Prices continue to be higher than the market conditions should dictate, I have conducted a Department of Commerce survey using their procedures, and Dollar General needs to apply more pressure on it's vendors wholesale prices, and make a clear reduction to Dollar General retail prices, very soon!!!! This store NEVER seems to have the items i need when i come in there! Most of the employees seem pretty friendly but don't really seem to know their inventory- if u ask them "Do u guys have pencil sharpeners here?" One may respond with something like, "i don't know if we do or not. But IF we do, they would probably be with the school supplies." It's just frustrating that the cashiers who work there don't know what they are selling and therefore can't really help the customer very much. The checkout line is always a mile long and lasts forever because the cashiers move with no sense of urgency so if ur in a hurry,...

Always a disappointment. Consistently out of disinfecting wipes, rubbing alcohol, even common hand soap. Three months in to the pandemic and one would think this would be resolved to some degree. I have been told by store employees that these items are given to local authorities before being put on store shelves for purchase by the public. Yet the corporate office denies this practice. Which is it? In any case...what is the common person to do to protect...
