Hot Air Balloon Ride from Glenmore, PA – Underwhelming for the Price
I recently took a hot air balloon ride from Glenmore, PA, and overall, the experience was underwhelming—especially considering the cost.
The process started with about 20 minutes of balloon inflation, which we expected, but there wasn’t much to do while we waited. It was just our group there—no crowd, no atmosphere, no music or commentary—so the whole setup felt a bit dull. Similarly, after landing, the deflation took another 20 minutes, again with little to engage us during that time. Both the takeoff and landing spots were in plain, open areas with nothing scenic or photogenic around, which was disappointing since we were hoping to capture some memorable photos.
We were told the balloon ride would last around 60 minutes, but it ended in just over 40 minutes. The flight path itself wasn’t impressive—it mostly covered residential neighborhoods, stretches of highway. There weren’t any picturesque landscapes, lakes, or landmarks, which made the ride feel uneventful. To make it less exciting, we had also been told that there would be other balloons flying alongside us, adding to the visual appeal—but there were none. Ours was the only balloon in the sky, so the experience lacked the kind of "wow factor" you often see in promotional photos.
At about $330 per person for a shared ride, it definitely felt overpriced for what was delivered. I understand that ballooning can be expensive, but when you factor in the short duration, unremarkable views, and lack of any added touches (group atmosphere), it just didn’t feel worth the money.
If you’ve never done a hot air balloon ride before, it might be worth trying once for the novelty—but I’d strongly suggest picking a location known for its scenic beauty or balloon festivals. Somewhere with a vibrant landscape, more activity, and a sense of occasion would likely offer a much more memorable and...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I took a sunset ride over the beautiful rolling hill farms of Lancaster county last weekend. What an absolutely incredible experience. I booked our ride over the phone with Debbie about 3 weeks in advance and she kept in touch with me via email with necessary flight info regarding meet up time & place, suggested clothing to wear & weather details. Our pilot Sangram was fantastic. We felt very safe with him as he was more than happy to answer any and all of our questions throughout the ride. The ride itself was something we will never forget. We happened to pick the perfect weekend for views of the countryside at peak fall foliage viewing. If you’re planning on bringing a phone or camera (which you absolutely should), id recommend a case that can attach to your wrist, just in case! If you’re unsure if this kind of experience is for you, I highly encourage you to try it. It really was an unforgettable once in a lifetime experience- something to check off the bucket...
Read morePaid $100 for four of us to do a tethered balloon ride on Fathers Day in Chester County, We were the first in line which is a mistake for his experiment attempt to right the balloon we he added another person to our “flight”’. What we experienced we a “half” in the air experience for approximately three minutes as the pilot attempted to get balanced. There was zero communication beyond telling us we need to get out get ready to be uncomfortable as he hustles the next group in the basket as well subsequently were instructed to exit. Not sure if it is the unfortunate part of being first but the experience was off putting. We after reflecting on the experience we realized we did not get a family photo. We asked if they could have taken one and were told they can take one from the ground but should have asked… we never though of this while being cattle’s in. We understand the need to make money but at least being kind could lend to repeat customers… we will not be...
