As you visit multiple National Parks you begin to realize that all of these general stores/gift shops/eateries are all basically the same. The only thing that changes is the branded merchandise. One should be able to find the right Mammoth Hot Springs or Yellowstone NP hat, shirt, jacket, etc. to fit their taste. Real world(i.e. outside the park) pricing is given no consideration. There is a ton of souvenirs, snacks, curios, trinkets, and tchotchkes. Prepare to crack open your wallet. Wide. Employees are a mixed experience. The employees seem to be people from all over and their demeanor towards you may vary wildly. Parking...is next to hopeless if you get there past mid-morning. There are a lot of spots, but they all fill up. Be prepared to stalk pedestrians for a spot. Egress is surprisingly easy for such a crowded spot. Mostly due to the aforementioned stalkers that are willing to hold up all traffic if they even suspect you are about to...
Read moreNice place, well stocked. My son and I stopped about a week ago to get some medicine that I needed, and also desperately needed to use the bathroom, like emergency! The bathrooms aren't generally open to the public, but they did make an exception and I was ever so grateful believe me! It's the dead of winter, and I would have had to go back a little ways to a bathroom I had already used a few moments before that. LOL A little graphic, but you get my drift! I love Yellowstone. My son used to work here, and on that very snowy day, there were very few cars in the park and we got to see so many bison, and in particular, a small herd crossing the road right in front of us. We saw two unbelievably enormous elk with gigantic racks, and even a very healthy looking coyote just trotting along the side of the road. If you haven't been to Yellowstone go! Winter or summer! It's just one of the best places on earth! And yes, this is a nice little store that...
Read moreHorrible customer service especially for a touristy shop. We kept being redirected to use self check out even though we stated we had a question for an employee. When we asked for change for the penny pressing machine, we were given an eye roll and huff from the employee who then stated “we don’t do cash back” with no solution. When I asked how much the chap stick and lotion was, same thing and provided no salesmanship. I just put everything we didn’t need down at that point. Everyone looked like they absolutely hated their job. Very pricey! $13 for a small bag of taffy and $10 for a magnet. I’m okay with tourist prices but this place needs to work on tourist treatment and customer service in order to expect people to pull out their wallet. Not a...
