This review is about the Lower Falls Lower Falls is located in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, near Canyon Village. The lava lip underneath the edge of the falls is 590,000 years old. Lower Yellowstone Falls is the largest volume waterfall in the Rocky Mountains. These falls are 308 feet high, or nearly twice as high as Niagara Falls. You will hear them well before you can see them and they are a sight to behold. There is a trail that goes right to the edge of the fall point where the water goes over the edge and this also goes down to the river. Read moreIf you like waterfalls you don't want to miss this spectacular experience. I plan on going back and taking the path down to the overlook just above the top of the falls. This trip I took a hiking trail along the river where there were many sites visible along the way, including the falls from time to time.

Read moreBest time to be here is after Memorial Day even if the weather looks potentially gloomy the clouds will part and give the visitors some stunning pictures. If you have a camera with a nice telephoto lens or a Bridge Camera superzoom you will have a plethora of opportunities out there. Hayden Valley and Lamar are just so super duper for wildlife opportunities….. Managed to film this Grizzly sow and her 2 cubs from a good 100+ yards out. Bring your bug repellent you will need it in early June to the end...
