Breathtaking Beauty and Hidden Gems: Upper Falls View, Yellowstone, WY

Our father and son trip to Upper Falls View in Yellowstone, WY, was an absolute delight that left an indelible mark on both me and my 5-year-old boy. From the stunning trails to the hidden waterfall, this destination offered a memorable and immersive experience.

The first thing that struck us was the sheer beauty of Upper Falls View. The cascading waterfalls against the backdrop of the majestic surroundings created a breathtaking sight. My son's eyes widened with wonder as he took in the powerful rush of water and the picturesque scenery that enveloped us.

Exploring the trails by the falls added an element of adventure to our trip. My son was thrilled to discover a hidden waterfall to the right, unnoticed by most visitors. This hidden gem provided a sense of exclusivity and allowed us to appreciate the lesser-known beauty of the area.

The long trail leading down to the bottom of the falls was a highlight of our adventure. It offered a unique perspective and allowed us to witness the grandeur of the falls up close. While the trail was challenging at times, especially for those less physically fit, the effort was well worth it. The experience of standing at the base of the falls, surrounded by nature's power and splendor, was simply awe-inspiring.

The hour-long round trip hike (or potentially more for those less fit) provided an opportunity to connect with nature and immerse ourselves in its beauty. It was a journey that tested our endurance but rewarded us with breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment.

Upper Falls View is truly a hidden treasure within Yellowstone National Park. Its mesmerizing beauty, complemented by the trails and hidden waterfall, creates a memorable experience for visitors of all ages. The awe-inspiring scenery and the chance to explore the trails make it an ideal destination for those seeking adventure and a deeper connection with nature.

I highly recommend a visit to Upper Falls View, especially for a father and son trip like ours. Prepare to be captivated by the beauty of the falls, discover hidden wonders, and embark on a memorable hiking adventure. Take your time, savor the experience, and create cherished memories that will...

The Upper Falls View in Yellowstone National Park is glorious. The sheer sight of the enormous amount of water that flows through the river and over the falls at this point is breathtaking and makes you realize how powerful the river is. There weather was beginning to clear when we arrived so we were able to see the view with the sun shining through the mist, making the falls sort of glimmer and sparkle. We followed a winding path leading downhill from the topmost viewing overlook to get a different perspective of the view. Along the way we caught sight of a strange little critter popping out of a crevice in the rocks under the pathway, running up and looking at us, then popping back in. I got the impression it was waiting to see if we might feed it! We later learned it was a Marmot, an animal I had never seen before. The view along the path and at the lower area was a bit more obstructed by trees and brush, but, nevertheless, was still worth the short walk - plus it was good exercise😉. I recommend stopping for a look at the...

This is a must stop will in Yellowstone. As you are walking from the parking lot and see the viewing spot, go to the left. It had a better view than the one on the right. Both are great views, but the one on the left is incredible. There are potties at this stop and also a place to sit in the shade. Parking gets fully midday, so I would suggest going early or after 6pm. There are also thrash cans for you to throw away your unwanted trash collecting in the car. If you want to see bison, head south from here; there will be...
