Hampton Ponds State Park — Attraction in Westfield

Decent Pond. Employees were pretty verbally abusive. I saw a sign that said "park closes at 4pm". When I took my boat out of the water, (3:50) there was an IRATE park employee in a golfcart waiting by my car. "IS THIS YOUR CAR?" he said- yes. It was. HE was very upset that I hadn't taken my boat out 20 minutes sooner. He was EXTREMELY rude, and really embarrassed me in front of my party. "No you DIDN"T read that sign, DID YOU?", he shouted. (I was shocked at his tone.) "And there is no way you'll be out in time." I was out with five minutes to spare. He was upset that I didn't part at the boat-launch properly, but I followed ALL park signs. (apparently the boatlaunch is found outside of the main park, though signs inside the park DO point toward the launch- where I parked.) Even if you are respectful of all posted park rules, you might be accosted by irate employees, and there is no method of filing a formal...

Nestled in Westfield is a beautiful small lake surrounded by homes, hilly terrain and woodlands. It has several nice sized beaches some with shelters, picnic areas & fire boxes for grilling to entertain families on those hot summer days. There is boating, canoeing, paddle boats, water skiing, fishing, hiking and lots of other ways to enjoy yourself. It makes for a picturesque setting with many of subjects just poising for you to take a picture. Walk the streets with the shore homes you'll be surprised. Beautiful & the water is crystal clear and warm water. BUT the life fairs are incredibly young & childish- one of the females was dropping the F bombs and referring to her other lifeguards as “bitches” this was after they kicked all the kids out of the water to practice whatever it is they were supposed to be doing?? They just hung out and horsed around with each other...doing things they would have told our children NOT to do...were paying for THIS??
