Anne Spalter and I are in a group show here along with an extraordinary selection of early computer artists. Today is the last day, so it is a good time for me to rave about the experience, about the physical environment and the people behind this exceptional space. The gallery is off the beaten path, but not far off, and it should be a regular stop for people in Boston and Providence. The environment is stunning, a huge interior with high ceilings, perfect light through the windows that can be controlled with shades (we were showing media and wall mounted works, both) and the surrounding landscape is so charming and unexpected, especially for a gallery of this caliber. We had video projections running on the exterior wall at night, that you could walk to by crossing a bridge over a little stream. It was like a fantasy, a rare treat for us certainly. So this is not an urban gallery on the outside, but on the inside it is right up there, and should be put on everyone's map of places to see great exhibitions. Read moreMy wife and I were recently married at the Dedee Shattuck Gallery. It was the most wonderful, beautiful weekend of my life. Working with Dedee was an absolute pleasure, and she was so helpful and kind during the whole experience. The gallery was stunning and perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding! We used one side of the gallery to eat and the other to have the dancing, which was complemented perfectly by the dimmable lights and the great Bose stereo system. The ceremony was out on the lawn, and we had a clam bake outside as well. It was perfect! Even if you aren't getting married, come check this place out.
