This place has the charm of a roadside shanty market in the Philippines. It also - quite regrettably - shares the sanitation and refrigeration practices.
I don't mind the odd SE Asian practice of selling underwear next to food (the entire store is lined with bras); nor do I mind that the store isn't at all organised and feels more like a hoarder's den than a supermarket.
What bothers me is finding a rusted-out, years old, jar of bagoong (fermented shrimp paste); rancid-looking grey meat; sludge in the produce reservoirs -- you get the picture.
This place is filthy. I wouldn't eat anything from this store unless I needed to get some sick leave.

They have some non food items too, some clothes (hats, sarong, etc), limited costume jewelry, sandals, etc) Prices are really good, cheaper than some of the Asian chains. it's your typical Asian, small business.    Read moreSamway Market is one of the best stores in White Center for fresh groceries, seafood, and rare Asian food items. The Khmer owners always greet the customers. The young men, Billy and Jamie, are fantastic if you meet them during the checkout. They have good interaction with the customers. I love them.
This store has a Taco truck next to it. So you can enjoy the fresh deli from the store, as well as the taco from the food truck around the corner.
