It's a fenced in dog run basically. There's two sides (1) for larger breeds and (2) for smaller breeds. Very little maintenance and poo everywhere " Use Caution - Parvo " there are no trash bags and the very back gates can be opened. Be careful and watch your pets to make sure they don't accidentally get out.
Overall it's a place to let your pets play "nice" and a chance to chat with other locals. I enjoy driving a little further back to the lake and hill area where there are walking trails and Frisbee golf along with a memorial dedicated to honoring those who serve(d) this country.
Be weary of drifters though, as with any public park ( stay alert and stay safe ) I have met some very strange individuals here as well. Along with traveling strippers, again ( stay alert and stay safe ) if it doesn't make sense when you hear it the first time, then it never will. Run from those people.
This place is generally safe though and random unwelcomed encounters are seldom at best.
For the most part, it's one of the safest places to have fun with a friend or two and enjoy the outdoors and the challenge of walking the Wichita Hill with good company.
Or check out the designated R.C. plane and car area. That's engineering at its funnest!
It's good exercise and fairly clean, because like I said most people are pretty...
Read moreGood things about the Wichita falls dog park is is awesome how you can just go in and close the gate and let your dog roam around and meet other dogs and you can meet other people that have dogs and talk it is awesome and I think is open all the time. No the downside on it that I don't like about it is that there's not enough seatings and there should be a couple oak trees and the gating area maybe even outside the dog area close by swings and slides for the kids or something and there needs to be a bathroom for adults and children close by and a water fountain for adults and children. Other than that our little dog Oreo absolutely loves to run around and play.man I just wish there was a bathroom and a little play area and more places to sit and the dog...
Read moreIts OKAY. I have to be very careful bringing my pup here to socialize. It seems a lot of people here do not use common sense. Many let their dogs in, and go plop on their phones and leave the rest to babysit their dogs. Hence the mounds of poop everywhere, and those are typically the ones with not so friendly dogs. Please, if your dog is not "dog friendly" do not bring them to a DOG PARK!!! If you have a small dog, please leave them on the small dog side! Even if they enjoy playing with larger dogs, its possible they may get stepped on or injured by a large dog. So essentially please read the rules before using the dog park! If you abide by them you will be fine! Some days we have a great time, other days we pick up and leave when trouble...
