Admittedly, i have not been to every Chinese food restaurant in the area. However, i have tried Taste of China, and i came back for seconds. The food is very good, not the best I've tasted, but it's very adequate and authentic to the American "Chinese Food"flavor. For this location, .. You know where you are,... You know you're in the "lock your car doors", " try not to be out at night" part of Texas - Wichita Falls. However, the staff are super friendly and welcoming. Prices are "learn to love inflation" high - a pretty normal size portion meal, of say - any chicken: sesame, orange, sweet and sour, and an ok portion of rice, as a side, will cost you $6.99. Steep? Yes. In similar establishments, you'd hope to find the video-worthy excessive amount of rice, at least. But not the case at this establishment. 3 combo plates and 1 family serving of Fried Rice, and 2 Sushi rolls: $43.00. You be the judge of whether this is a "i can get 6 Little Caesars/Domino's pizzas for that much", or a "well, it's only once a month" kind of...
Read moreI decided to ordered the family dinner on a BUSY Friday evening, and was told it was going to be 30min, which unusually long for them, however reasonable for other places. When I arrive 30 minutes later to pick up my food, there was four people ahead of me. Each person waiting patiently even though no one has seemed to be waiting long. But every person there had a smile on their face, despite the wait. Not a single person seem to mind because each one of them were talking, laughing, and talking about their weekend plans with the owner as if they knew each other on first name basis. The owner of the restaurant was calm and collective despite the on slot of orders and calls that were coming in. He kept a smile on his face, and even offered each person there waiting a complementary hot tea. The best part is their food is just as good as their service! This place WILL NOT DISAPPOINT! Thank you...
Read moreI go here once a week since it's next door to the laundromat. I cannot give this place enough praise. The owner is kind, energetic, personable, and will give you wildly good service.
The food is incredible and reasonably priced and they are always expanding and experimenting with the menu, and you'll almost always get something new to try. You'll be hard pressed to find somewhere more authentic in Wichita Falls.
They serve both Vietnamese and Chinese just depending on the day and both are very much worth trying. You can tell there is a passion for feeding people and it shows.
This is one of those cases where spending locally pays off. Give this dude your money and enjoy a family owned joint that pushes some of the best...
