Not sure why I'm leaving this review but here we are... There is always something missing in my order but I know to check and they always make it right. I believe they are just testing my awareness and I appreciate that. I have always had great customer service except for that one time...I forgive them. I say 5 stars because why not you know? The red beans and rice are worth 5 stars to me.
UPDATE 3/17/23 : Im going to be honest, I lied and haven't "always" had great customer service here BUT today Hunter (best employee ever) truly showed up. Best customer service I have ever had here (I've been going for over 10 years). Please promote Hunter to Ownership of Popeyes. I say "Hunter" you say "Five Stars". AMEN.
UPDATE 3/5/24: It pains me to do this but from 5 to 1 we go. The order taker (lets call him "Taker") must have been mad at me with his short, non welcoming tone when taking my order. I looked past this and tried to give him a smile and "hows your day" at the window but to my demise...I received no attention (and I love attention). Remember how I said I always check my order..I didnt (my bad) and I had the wrong side. Went back and Taker was still mad at me at the speaker. Had to repeat myself 4 times and received no apology from them. Bummer. Will I go back? YES , but only bc the red beans and rice. Also, where's HUNTER? I miss him. Did he get promoted to owner? We will never...
Read moreIf you want rude, slow, disrespectful, and inaccurate service, this is the place for you! They have the $5 bonafide box again (woohoo!) and on the sign it says you can add a drink to it for $1. I order two boxes and two drinks and I’m told my total is $12.98, which is what I expected. I get to the window and all of a sudden my total is $14.70. What?!? The guy was so eager to run my card that he wouldn’t listen to me asking why the price changed. He finally did AFTER he ran my card and told me it was $14.70 because that’s what the screen says. I explain the sign and that I was charged incorrectly and he gets his manager. The manager is where we get to the rude bit. She looked at me like I was dumb when I explained the situation and snatched my receipt from my hand. She then gives me some money back and says she was giving me back the money for my drinks. Great....may I have the drinks? She looks at me once again like I’m stupid and says “you wanted drinks?” Yes, I want drinks, that’s why I ordered them. Ok, it will be $2.75. Wait, you literally just said you were giving me the money for the drinks and then you’re going to charge me? After I’ve sat in line for 20 minutes and my food’s cold and y’all messed up on the charges, you want to charge me?!? This is the worst Popeyes I’ve ever been to. I’ve tolerated it for a bit because I like the food...
Read moreI DO love that chicken from Popeyes. However, it is often a mixed bag as to what kind of experience I will have there. The store is clean, but this summer the dining room has been so hot, I cant eat there. In fact, the last time I went, my son and I just sat in the truck in the parking lot to eat lunch and stay out of the heat. I don't blame them specifically for this, lots of restaurants in Wichita have been uncomfortably warm this summer...and with the threats of blackouts, kinda understandable I guess. The other iffy thing is service. There again, everyone seems to be short staffed, and the employees can only do so much at any given time. However, friendliness is something I don't give excuses for. Even on my worst days, I treated my customers with the gratitude they deserved for providing me with a job. Whatever may have been going in my own life was not their problem. How I felt about my job was...NOT their problem, I always had the option to quit and find something different if I was unsatisfied. Too often, the people working fast food do not understand (or care) this reality. Popeyes is no exception, nor the only one to suffer this mentality. I have had great to rude service from Popeyes as well as other fast food joints. Chick-fil-A seems to be one of the few exceptions and always seems to have plenty of friendly staff...
