Myself and three others dropped by this distillery on a Saturday night around 8:30. I would say that the service is surprisingly slow for a newly opened 'bar'. It took about 35 minutes for our drink orders to be taken and delivered, and once we tasted them they were not what we expected. I ordered the Moscow Mule, and while I was able to drink it, it was not pleasant and had an interesting headiness that reminded me of a tequila. One person with me returned to the bar to cancel the Bloody Mary order that she had placed. The other two wanted gin martinis and were persuaded into ordering the martini that was on the menu. The martini was definitely different, but had too much going on, and one of the two ordered went untouched. If you're interested in trying something new and like the idea of complex flavors then you may like the drink menu available. The overall look of the distillery I enjoyed and the atmosphere is relaxed. The drink prices are about $9 and up. I think I would return if the drink menu was expanded and better...
Read moreI had spent the better part of a day looking for white whiskey, most places flat out just don't carry the stuff, So I called Wheat State and though they didn't have any on hand, they made a special trip out to the distilling facility to pick up two bottles for me from an untouched barrel. When I came to pick it up, everyone there was incredibly nice, especially the owners. They even gave me some free samples as we were talking about different whiskeys and infusions.
