Our family recently had the pleasure of attending Stage Right’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and from start to finish, it was an absolute delight. With three kids in tow—ages 8, 15, and 17—we were all thoroughly entertained.
Framing the musical as a classroom story time was a brilliant and playful directorial choice. It added an extra layer of humor and imagination, allowing each performer to embody the fun of “children playing adults” in the biblical tale. This concept gave the show a vibrant sense of energy and charm that younger audience members could relate to, while keeping clever comedic moments for the adults, too.
Cody Combs gave a sincere and touching performance as Joseph, giving a true feeling of authenticity. Annie Schneider's vocal performance was truly remarkable—her effortless command of the score left a lasting impression on all of us.
The ensemble was bursting with personality, and each "student-turned-character" brought something unique to the stage. Mary Vosseberg and James Lindman’s standout solos had us laughing out loud, both performers showcasing impeccable comedic timing and character work.
Visually, the production was a feast! The staging and lighting design elevated each scene, adding flair that matched the score's eclectic style.
In short, this production was a joyful, imaginative, and impressively polished rendition of Joseph. It engaged every member of our family and left us talking about it well after the final bow (which came with its own entertaining surprise). A huge congratulations to the cast, crew, and creative team for bringing such a fun and heartfelt experience to...
