Happy Hill Park — Attraction in Winston-Salem

Very cute park with such a fun splash pad! I will say, there was a dirty diaper on the floor of the playground which was icky, but idk how common that happens, so I’m not reducing stars for that. It’s a 4/5 for me because it would be nice if there was a shade over some of the playground and the surrounding concrete by the splash pad. Probably poor planning on my part, but walking on the concrete and the rubber floor of the playground was HOT! Also that day, while it was sunny, it was only 84 degrees, so imagine it only gets worse in the 90s. Again, great place! Will be...

I visited on a Saturday around 1pm. There were a few people in the covered picnic area, and I could see people on the Greenway, but otherwise, the park was empty. Parking lot was great. Loved the rubber track! I didn't visit the playground, splash pad (although it was running), or bathrooms, so I can't comment on those aspects of the park. Also, there were great views of the tall downtown buildings (not from here, so I don't know their actual names). Super close to where I live, so I think I've found my new spot to get...

I was looking for a public track to do a few laps in Winston but sadly this is not a safe option imo. The design is nice and looks pretty clean but did not feel safe as there were about 20 street hustlers hanging out inside the sitting area above the park and along the street leading into the park. I might have stayed but I was by myself with a new car not trying to put myself in risky situations. Went on a Sunday at 5pm but I'll try again...
