10 rules that an experienced bartender always follows: 1) always make eye contact with a customer before they make eye contact with you. 2) always pay attention to what's going on not only at the bar, but in the entire establishment. 3) Always chat with the customers seated at the bar, don't chat with your fellow employees behind the bar 4) always stand facing towards the people seated at the bar, and never put your cash register facing away from the people at the bar. Place your cash register so that when you're counting money or putting in a tab, you're still facing the people at the bar. 5) never ignore a paying Customer, even if you hate them to death 6) work extremely fast, you should be able to handle at least three customers at a time if you can't then quit your job. 7) Time is of the essence, don't take more than 30 seconds to make a drink, even if it involves various different ingredients, if you can't do it fast then quit your job. 8) always be aware of who is first in line , don't look around wondering who came first you should always know that, otherwise quit your job. 9) The customer is always right 10) when a customer wants to close their tab out, pay attention, and do it fast and efficiently, it shouldn't take more than 30 seconds to close out a customer's tab.
