Scotchie's Custom Cakes — Attraction in Winter Park

I must give credit to where it’s due. I had been looking for the right place for a Gluten Free cake for our son’s 13th Birthday, who has Celiac. For all my Celiac moms out there… you and I both know the side effects as it relates to cross contamination, etc. I visited Scotchie’s Cake in person a week prior to when I needed the cake and the owner, Dan, was so welcoming. He was very attentive to my allergen concerns and re-assured me over and over that they understood that this was not a “gluten-friendly” cake but 💯 Gluten Free and they were well versed in all necessary precautions that needed to be taken. After consulting with another local bakery, which I was not too impressed with….I decided to give Scotchie’s Custom Cakes a try. I found the design of the cake online, forwarded a pic to Dan, and placed my order.

When I arrived to pick up the cake… I was impressed on how beautiful it had turned out. It was then well boxed with an attached cake cutter to go with it as well. I knew the ultimate test would occur later on that evening and into the next day.

Fast forward to birthday dinner…. Our son felt so special that he could dive right into his cake with no questions s asked… although he did ask a few times, “Wait, this cake is gluten free? No way!”

The cake was moist and absolutely delicious. There was no weird aftertaste, no gritty falling apart type ordeal… I mean, literally one couldn’t tell it was a gluten free cake if you didn’t mention it.

Furthermore, 24hrs later, he had no complaints of malaise, stomach pain, no NADA. He had a fun-filled 13th Birthday with THE BEST GLUTEN FREE CAKE EVER!

Scotchie’s Custom Cakes passed our Celiac test… hands down! ☺️😉👌🏾

This is the best bakery, and has a wonderful owner! Each May, for several years, I have ordered a birthday cake for my daughter from Scotchies Dan, the owner, goes out of his way to deliver her cake at often, inconvenient times. Yesterday, I called and needed a cake! I forgot to order until the last minute! Most bakeries won’t even listen to you about your absentmindedness, but Dan does! He thoughtfully agreed to deliver her cake today while my daughter was at work at her Winter Park hair salon. Dan and I decided that he would deliver the cake by 4:00 Saturday, the next afternoon I never tell her my daughter so that she will be surprised. She works late every Saturday, but I just happened to ask her how late she would be working. Oh Nooo; she was leaving work at 3:00!! I called Dan, begging for him to change the time to 1:00. He totally accommodated and did, indeed, deliver the delicious masterpiece by 1:00! She and her coworkers were thrilled. omg what can i say that will be able to show how thankful i am that this amazing bakery saved the day for me by delivering a cake was so delicious i can not describe how moist & fluffy this cake was. i do not eat cake usually bc it’s too sweet but i ate about an 8th of the whole cake and it wasn’t even my birthday. my amazing friend was having a birthday celebration and the original baker stopped responding to my calls and text after taking the deposit about 2 weeks before her party. i was so upset but i find this bakery online and writhing 24 hrs he had my order taken with full details and allowed me to pay over the phone since i live in SC. this is the only bakery that matters in my book i wish they shipped but no worries when i’m in orlando i’m getting a cake from here. did i mention he had samples of the cake for me try when i came to pick it up. customer service matches that...
