Neabsco Regional Park — Attraction in Woodbridge

This is my favorite walk in the Woodbridge area. The nature and surroundings are stunning, relaxing, so pleasant! The parking lot shows there are always a lot of cars...however on the boardwalk itself - not that crowded. Perfect for photographers, children, families, walkers - just everyone. My husband and I rotate among walks in the area but I LOVE this one. It's like the happy place. Because of no shade on the boardwalk, be warned it may be fairly intensely hot and humid on a full sun summer day. Otherwise, perfect! Herons, bald eagles, hawks, the beautiful red winged blackbird which also has a yellow stripe next to the red stripe, turtles, occasional ducks, snakefish visible in the water by the first muskrat lodge, muskrats! With a second but less noticeable lodge a.k.a. Beaverdam at the other end of the half miles board walk. at both ends of the trail.

Very nice and clean park. Some construction is going on in the parking lot area. Nice play ground for kids is right next to parking lot. Also a nice excercise area at next to play ground right at the parking lot. The maps are located at parking lot for reference. Trail is very easy to get to the boardwalk.
