If you are thinking of going to the State Theater in Woodland, CA, then I would have to tell you don’t. This place is utterly ridiculous, and my family had a terrible experience there. We had a family of 12 and pretty much took up a whole row of the theater. We had ordered our tickets online, and had been randomly given seat numbers. There were two other people sitting in the row when we came in, and our family sat next to who they wanted to. So, the movie now begins to start, and we are about a fourth of the way through the movie. Then there was this lady who came up, starting with our row, and started to check our tickets. She skips one of my family members, and then starts with the two other people thay had been there before us. Apparently, these two were in the wrong aisle, and she ends up moving them. Now, she starts checking the rest of my family, and sees that our seating doesn’t match our tickets seat number. But this is after she has taken all our tickets from us. And she begins to tell us that we all need to move to the seat we were assigned. My mother, and grandmother try to explain to this lady that our entire family was in the row and had paid for the tickets online. Then the lady begins to explain that it is policy to sit in the seat we are assigned, and we have to move. Now remember, this is while the movie is playing, people are sushing us, and we were randomly given the seat numbers. So this lady begins giving us the tickets back, telling us we need to sit in the seat number, and they aren’t even the same tickets we had started out with! She begins seperating my grandparents, who haven’t been in a theater in 27 years, and other couples in my family. We try to ask the lady if we could just switch tickets, since she was mixing them up anyway, and she tells some of my family that they need to leave, or they can get a refund if they want to leave. We ask to speak with the manager, and this lady happens to be the manager. Her name was Alandra, and she was incredibly rude to my family. She never checked the other people in the theaters tickets, only targeting my family, and was getting into our faces. She should not be a manager in my opinion. If the seats are that important, there should be someone in the front of each section of the theater to show sitting arangments, or some sort of stress of importance on the seats. I really wish I could give negative stars, cause they don't even...
Read moreThe Giant screen is great and so is the slightly wider selection of foods and drinks compared to the other local theater. However if you are seeing a movie outside of the screenings with luxury chairs there really isn't that big of a reason to go to this theater compared to the other local one. Here's three reasons why
one: this theater charges $10 after 8pm Which to some may not be that big of a deal but as a student I sure do have very little spare time before 8pm
Two: this theater has no rewards program or membership. The other local theater has a membership program that discounts food and beverages and gets you a movie ticket to any movie for that month. Best part is those tickets rollover to the next month if you don't watch a film that month.
Three: this theater has leather chairs. I know this is of prefrance but to some this can either make or break your decision to come here compared to the local theater as leather seating is warmer. This is especially true if you are a larger person as I am (5'11 235) and I often find myself getting uncomfortably warm in any theater without luxury reclining chairs(I honestly don't know why it is in the giant screen i don't get warm but anywhere else I do but I guess it just be like that sometimes)
I know I sound like some sort of person who works for the local theater (especially with my memberships talk) but I just talk about things or experiences provided by places that involve transactions of money like this. In all honestly the reason for my salesman like approach to reviewing this theater is because I am a class trator. I have fallen in capitalism trap and have become tied to a brand. I hope my comrades can forgive me for this but I know that I cannot
TLDR Good if seeing a movie in giant screen other wise probably go to cinimark (other...
Read moreJust saw Jurassic World, and it was the worst movie experience I've ever had. First I'll say the good things, check it process was quick, the theater looks great and the chairs were very comfortable. So comfortable that the adults next to me after they stopped having their side conversations and texting and being on their phone, one fell asleep and snored loud. To which his friends laughed and made more side conversations during the movie. Parents brought young kids who not only were loud but ran around the theater stomping their feet and yelling to each other. One couple brought a baby, so young that the baby didn't have a full head of hair, it cried multiple times during the movie. People told the people who were being loud to be quiet but they never did quiet down. I understand that a theater cannot control the kind of person they let watch movies. But at the very least they can make sure that people are not bringing young children and BABIES! to a movie! Jurassic world was good despite the horrible theater experience. There were so many loud side conversations going on all around, I thought it would stop after the previews but it didn't. Complete lack of respect for others attending the movie.and completely inappropriate theater etiquette. If you want to being loud and joke with friends while you watch a movie wait for it to come out for streaming and don't bother us that wanted to enjoy the movie at...
