This restaurant has two sides one near the bar area and the other side near the kitchen area. The kitchen area has a nicer more elegant atmosphere while the other side is your typical restaurant! The staff was very accommodating and didn’t mind that we took a long time to view the menu. They also constantly refilled our water and soda when they passed by and collected our dishes after we were done using them. We chose to sit closer to the kitchen in the fancy area! They have amazing cocktails, I tried the watermelon mint lemon drop and it was fantastic. It came with a piece of fresh watermelon and the cocktail doubled as a partial donation to a cause. This is on their menu which I thought was super cool. As for the food options, it was pretty diverse. Most of the salads come with dressing and all the usual stuff but you can add proteins to it as well. I had the watermelon beet salad to go with my cocktail and it paired nicely especially for the heat wave that was going on. The salad came with greens, cheese, candied walnuts and pickled beets. It was fantastic and light on the stomach. The ingredients were very fresh. My fiance had the crab cakes and they were delish! The steak was cooked nicely and the buffalo wing appetizer was a great shareable. For dessert we had strawberry rhubarb sorbet which was refreshing and perfectly tangy. A great balance! We also had the peach cobbler and it was gone within seconds because of how tasty it was, it was definitely a favorite! I recommend this if you’re in the area and it’s in downtown woodland so you can walk around all the cool antique shops after dinner! They also have a really cool notebook you can sign when paying! Such a cool and unique idea!

We planned to go somewhere else on a Sunday and they were closed. Turned out to be a good thing although we didn't think so at the time. We stumbled on this gem and we're definitely coming back! It's one street off the main strip that runs through town. It has indoor, air conditioned seating and a really nice outside patio for dining. It has nice lights and patio heaters for the dinner crowd. We went for lunch. I had a bleu cheese wedge salad that was one of the best I had (and I get them a lot). Two of us got burgers and they were both cooked perfectly to our liking. Another person ordered the Monte Cristo and commented on how fresh and flavorful it was. It was all so fresh. The 'farm to table' experience was capped off with very flavorful fruits and vegetables. The tomatoes were so flavorful I was almost suspicious! We ended by sharing a peach / berry cobbler for dessert that was so good we were on the verge of wrestling for the last bite. The service was very attentive and professional. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and answered every question we had. She wasn't afraid to make great recommendations. Put this place on your list if you want great quality food and service at a fair price. You won't be disappointed.

I was in from out of town for an appointment and Googled "best lunch in Woodland." Kitchen 428 was the top result, so I took a chance. The building is a Victorian charmer, modernized but keeping its original aesthetic. I was greeted cheerfully and my server, James, was attentive and provided helpful suggestions. I ordered a "Cocktail for the Cause" which was a delightful concoction called a honey badger. My entrée, the Rainier sandwich, was delectably presented with seasoned steak fries. Dessert was a tough choice between crème brulée and the seasonal peach and berry cobbler. I ultimately chose the cobbler and was not disappointed. It was a fitting farewell to all the best summer has to offer. Perhaps the most charming bit was when my check was delivered tucked inside an adorable little book, which details much more color theory than one would expect from a title "The First Book of Color." I look forward to returning on my next trip and bringing my mother to share the experience with. Thank you Kitchen 428 and Mojo's Lounge for such a lovely lunch!

My wife and I had a terrible experience while patronizing Mojo’s the other day. I ordered the Tri-tip sandwich without the blue cheese crumbles and she ordered the crab cakes. Admittedly, they were busy, but our food took longer than normal to arrive. During this time, no one came to check on us or refill our water, not too big of an issue yet. When our food did arrive, my fries were cold and my Tri-tip sandwich was loaded with the blue cheese crumbles. I told the waiter who I had to hunt down and he said he would take care of it. Orders kept coming out, but not mine. I repeatedly inquired about my order and he kept saying it was just a minute out. 30 minutes later, no food. I found him and told him to make it to go, because my wife had been done fore some time now. Oh yeah… still no water. We talked to the manager and she said she put the order in herself, 10 minutes later, still no food. We asked for the check to pay for the food we actually received. At the register she copped an attitude and sarcastically said “thank for the chance.” Once we got our receipt, my food showed up in a to go bag and she said “take it, or we’ll just throw it away.” I didn’t need her attitude after the long ordeal we just went through. I’ve eaten at Mojo’s several times before and never had an issue like this. Hopefully, it was a one and out, but I’m done with them for the near future. Mojo’s, you...

This is the best place to eat in Woodland. From the burger to the ribeye, the bolognese to the short ribs, the salmon to the pork chop, and everything in between. They have vegan dishes too. The chefs there are amazing and the price point is low for the portions and quality of the food. You can go fine dining on the restaurant side or casual on the lounge side. Same menu. Be sure to make a reservation if you want to go fine, because the place is often full, especially on a holiday or event day. They also offer a great selection of nonalcoholic beverages. They have craft house made NA cocktails and beer including NA Guinness and Hoppy Poppy IPA for the non-drinkers like myself. Theres a really nice outside seating patio. They often have live music in the joint too. There is also a second “speakeasy style” bar on the third floor of the 1800’s historic building complete with a secret hidden bookshelf door. The third floor is only open for different functions such as private party’s, conventions, live shows, music, and it’s available for rent. There’s rumor of hosting yoga and hot yoga in the third floor too. Kitchen 428 and Mojo’s Lounge are a must see destination if you’re in Woodland. The beautiful historical building alone is worth the half a block walk off...
